I was not able to find a thread for Curry ACCEL program for Spring 2019, here's one for us!
I recently decided to apply some schools around Boston, so I'm still in the process of completing my NursingCAS application. (Yes, it was the last minute decision and I'm super stressed about completing all admission requirements by the end of this month!) Getting all documents delivered on time and writing a good personal statement would be the biggest challenge for me.
My undergrad GPA isn't great (low 3), but my pre-reqs are all completed and I have pre-req GPA of 3.9. I don't have any experience in a medical field, so it gives me an extra pressure to write my personal statement. Curry would be my first choice for now, but application process is way more complicated than I thought.
Anyone on the same boat here? By the way, is anyone sending a letter of recommendation? I'd love to hear anything from applicants to current students to even graduates!
I wish you all the best of luck!

I'm in the exact same boat! I just decided to apply to Curry last week and am really hoping all my transcripts arrive on time. I had a 3.1 undergrad GPA and currently have a 3.9 pre-req GPA but I still have to take Chem (so that will probably drop a little).
I didn't submit a letter of recommendation, and I don't even think there's an opportunity to upload one on NursingCAS unfortunately.
Good luck with your application!!

Hi everyone! I just finished submitting my application through NursingCAS. I think the most stressful part was creating my personal statement and cover letter. I've been teaching for the last four years (I didn't get accepted into the nursing program at Regis.) I had to make up for my lack of medical experience by highlighting the qualities and skills I've acquired through teaching. Good luck to everyone! We won't hear back until mid July due to the amount of applications they've received. I still have four prerequisites to get done this summer and fall. I'm super anxious but wish everyone the best of luck!!

Hi All!
I am applying to the program as well. I applied to MGH last year and they also used Nursing CAS so thankfully my application is all set for the most part. I got waitlisted at MGH and was recently just accepted to Masssoit's ADN Program. I am trying to decide which route to go, accelerated or take my time.
For Curry, I have all of my pre-reqs completed except for Chemistry. I am currently re-taking Statistics on Portage Learning ( I received a C in undergrad) and I am a bit nervous about the transcript.
In the email Curry sent us a couple of weeks ago, I believe they stated that they would accept transcripts sent before the June 1st date even if they may not be received by the school by June 1st. I will be done with the class this week so sending in my transcript at the end of this week.
Does anyone know if this is true or if I am interpreting the email wrong?

I applied to Curry's ACCEL. I have been stay at home mother for the past 11 years with prior experience in marketing....no medical experience at all. I have a 3.18 in my undergrad and all A's in my Prereqs so far. I am in A & P 2 now and am taking Micro in the Fall. Curry is the only school I am applying to and if I dont get in, I will apply again next year! Fingers crossed and good luck to all!

I believe that is true. Transcripts are accepted as long as they were sent prior to the June 1st deadline.
Thanks!
I emailed a woman from Curry and she did confirm that as long as I have the grade submitted in Nursing CAS, they will review the grade when my transcript arrives.
For the personal statement, did you all remain within one page?
I saw in previous years that some people believed you could be penalized for going over the one page. Hopefully not the case!

I heard that as well. I kept mine to one page. It was 3 until I went to upload and saw the specific instructions so I whittled it down to one which was hard!
Mine was about 1 page and 2 small paragraphs, so I did go over just a little bit.
I am coming from a Marketing Background as well and do not have any professional experience in the Medical Field except for volunteering at Children's Hospital.
Now we wait, good luck to all!

My personal statement was almost 2 pages. Johanna said that they don't have a page limit, so I hope it's OK that I went over a page!
