Curry college ACCEL 2019

Published

I was not able to find a thread for Curry ACCEL program for Spring 2019, here's one for us!

I recently decided to apply some schools around Boston, so I'm still in the process of completing my NursingCAS application. (Yes, it was the last minute decision and I'm super stressed about completing all admission requirements by the end of this month!) Getting all documents delivered on time and writing a good personal statement would be the biggest challenge for me.

My undergrad GPA isn't great (low 3), but my pre-reqs are all completed and I have pre-req GPA of 3.9. I don't have any experience in a medical field, so it gives me an extra pressure to write my personal statement. Curry would be my first choice for now, but application process is way more complicated than I thought.

Anyone on the same boat here? By the way, is anyone sending a letter of recommendation? I'd love to hear anything from applicants to current students to even graduates!

I wish you all the best of luck!

Hi, I also applied to the Accelerated Nursing Program at Curry. I am waitlisted for MGH's DEN Program and was accepted to UMass Amherst's ABSN (I would have to relocate to Springfield to attend and am hoping a closer school accepts me). Getting accepted to Curry would be perfect since the commute would be no more than 10 minutes. My mom also got her nursing degree from Curry many years ago. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education (concentration in Speech Pathology) from Bridgewater State and my MPH from UMass Amherst. All my experience comes from retail management, human services and speech therapy. My undergrad GPA isn't the greatest but was able to get A's in all the prereqs. My essay was 1 page with three sentences on a second page. I received the email that my application was complete on 5/31. Looking forward to finding out the results in July. Good Luck Everyone!

Hi everyone!

I guess I'm in a slightly different boat then some of you. Im only 20 and I'm still completing my undergrad a umass amherst. I am hoping to graduate a semester early and go right into curry's program in the spring if i get accepted. My gpa at umass is a 3.27 but after adding in my prereqs from other schools my nursingcas undergrad gpa is a 3.57 . Does anyone know which one is more important. My statement is also a little over a page, but my mom graduated from this program a few years ago and said they don't mind so I hope thats still the case. I am so happy that there is a page for this so we can all help each other out. Im excited to hear back from the school and I hope we all get in. Also if anyone has questions I may able to ask my mother as I mentioned before as she has already graduated from this program

Hi everyone, I also applied to Curry for the 2019 cohort - wondering if anyone has heard anything back yet? Thanks!

Nothing yet, but we are about to enter July so just 2 more weeks until we find out ( by July 15th decisions will be made). Hoping for sooner!

I checked out past posts for Curry's ABSN and it seems like a lot of people found out in the first week of July. Fingers crossed we'll hear back next week! Good luck everyone!!

Hello Everyone

I also applied to Curry's accelerated nursing program. I have my fingers crossed for all of us!!!

Hi guys! I also applied and good luck to everyone! Fingers crossed

Does anyone know if we are notified by email or letter mail?

I heard letters will be sent on Jul 15th.

Hi Everyone! I actually just finished the Curry College ACCEL program in May and it was a great program! I learned more in the past year and a half than I ever thought possible. Although its challenging as most things in life are its also do-able and if you put your mind to it you will do great. Just a suggestion- I would recommend supporting one another through the program, everyone is in this for the same reason so supporting relationships goes a long way. Anyways my reason for posting here is because I have a ton of books/curry college scrubs (size Small)/etc that I would be willing to sell to anyone who wants a leg up going into the program. If anyone knows they got accepted into the accel program and is interested in accumulating some of the books/needed materials early and for a cheaper price feel free to email me @ [email protected]

Thanks Mikki! If accepted, I would definitely be interested and I'm sure we will all have questions :)

Hi Mikki- thanks for getting in touch here. I would be interested but don't want to jinx it! Congrats on finishing the program!
