Curry college ACCEL 2019

Published

I was not able to find a thread for Curry ACCEL program for Spring 2019, here's one for us!

I recently decided to apply some schools around Boston, so I'm still in the process of completing my NursingCAS application. (Yes, it was the last minute decision and I'm super stressed about completing all admission requirements by the end of this month!) Getting all documents delivered on time and writing a good personal statement would be the biggest challenge for me.

My undergrad GPA isn't great (low 3), but my pre-reqs are all completed and I have pre-req GPA of 3.9. I don't have any experience in a medical field, so it gives me an extra pressure to write my personal statement. Curry would be my first choice for now, but application process is way more complicated than I thought.

Anyone on the same boat here? By the way, is anyone sending a letter of recommendation? I'd love to hear anything from applicants to current students to even graduates!

I wish you all the best of luck!

Hi all! First off, congrats to everyone in the program; such an exciting time! I myself am anxiously awaiting the start of the Fall 2019 Plymouth program ? We have just gone through orientation, and I can't wait! That being said, I'm wondering if anyone is willing to share their experience so far? What has been the best part of the program? The worst? How has everyone been handling school-life balance? Any insight into what is coming would be SO appreciated!

Thanks!

I know this is an old forum, but just trying to see if anyone that was placed on a waitlist ended up getting a seat. Thank you!

Hi! I believe 1 person who was accepted left the the program just before the start date last Jan so it was filled with a waitlisted student. Good luck!

Congratulations! The program is tough but not impossible. Pharm was the hardest course for me for sure. I did well but not as well as I have in the other classes. I think overall it's a good program. It has its strengths and weaknesses like anything. I definitely still feel like I know nothing but I do and I am confident we are getting a decent education to pass the NCLEX. One word of advice is to get organized, stay on top of your studying every week, and be prepared to put in the work and not really have time for much else. If I can do it with 3 kids anyone can! Good luck!

Congrats on getting through the program @pme42! I am wondering if you could report a bit on what studying techniques/tips you found to be most helpful? I understand that everyone has their unique styles of course. One thing in particular however; did you find the textbooks to be helpful? Personally, I prefer to use them as a reference for what is covered in class rather than trying to read and memorize all the material.
