UoM=$27+

Please correct where i am wrong. These are base!!! What a difference!!!!!!!

Sounds about right; although, if you go a little further north, the pay is a bit higher by about 3-6 dollars/hr. without differential--not sure why there is such a difference.

You won't get 27$ an hour at the U until you have around 5 years experience, I can't find the pay scale on our union's website, their night shift diff is lower than most places from what I hear but alot of nurses left the other listed hospitals for a small pay cut to have the benefits and union advantages.

How long did it take you to find a job once you were out of school? And when did you graduate from the program?

The job market is very tight here in the US. As many as 50% of nurses cannot find a position is an acute care facility when they graduate and pass NCLEX. I think you need to investigate the process of getting a nursing license here in the USA, which can be a LONG process, before you think about applying for a position. Many foreign nurses are finding it difficult to apply for their license and be eligible to sit for the licensing exam called NCLEX.

Please visit the Nurse registration in our world form here on AN........

,Nurse Registration, where you can discuss registration in a different country to where you lived and/or trained. This is an area where issues and support can be offered from others already going through or have gone through the process. If information is required on immigration please post in Advice on Immigration.

Well my school ended in the middle of Aug. and I just took my NCLEX last Saturday because it took forever to get my ATT. So it took me about 2-3 months to get a job but I was holding out for ICU and that's what I ended up getting :) First call back and first interview! But I applied to probably at least 75 jobs (all ICU).

Congrats on the job!

WOW Grizzly, congradulations on getting exactly what you wanted. Keep us posted on how everything is going with you!
