current CNA pay 2015

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Hi,

I'm very curious what's the current CNA pay in your area? I just accepted a position where I make $15 on weekends and $12 base pay. I found that extremely rare since I never made that much as a CNA. In my area, the norm is $9.50 to maybe $12 as the high in Tampa Bay.

I think it depends on the area to be honest. Nursing homes here in western ky pay 7.60-9 for srnas (Cna). Hospitals start pcas around 10. Nurses around here start around 23-27 an hour.

I'm a CNA for a home care agency in northern Arizona and if a client pays through insurance, I make $8.50/hr. If they are private pay (which are few and far between), we make $10/hr.

I'm a hospital CNA in Oregon and I make a little over $17/hr before differentials. Our hospital's base wage for brand new CNA2s was $12.52/hr when I was first hired in 2009 and I don't think it's gone up much since then.

I'm in Maine. Been a CNA for 5 months. I work at a hospital and make $10.50/hour base pay, and I get a decent differential for night shift. In the area, I know of nursing homes starting CNAs anywhere from $8.75 to $14.

I've worked in peds which seems to pay lower- about $14

I started at around 13.50/hour three years ago and now make just over $15/hour. I'm in Wisconsin.

Im in vegas. Just landed a job at a hospital, no experience, newly grad and make $15 /hr.

Currently I am making $17.27 here in the phoenix area. Started at $15.35 a little over 3 years ago.

I think it varies because I was working at a Banner facility and after almost 12 years there I left earning only $14/hour.

Chazzie, I am a new CNA and pre-nursing student here in AZ. Do you have any advice to offer on where to look for a good paying new CNA position. I am an non-trad student and need to do my best in maintaining a certain income level while going to school. Two years ago I left my long term position and have adjusted to a 48% pay cut over that period. I would really like to find something that pays around $14/hr before shift dif, etc. As this is my first healthcare position I am indifferent to the facility type. I really just want to get my foot in the door AND be able to pay my tuition and bills.

Thank you!

I understand what you mean. I am a single mother, already have a BA in anthropology and a teenage who will be going to college soon. So I need to maintain my income to support my children while also paying for school.

I work for Indian Health Services. You can try to find jobs within the Phoenix area using the usajobs.gov website. As a federal facility the pay is much better than the private sector, and benefits are comparable. Check the VA as well and I think Nightingale Homecare will start out CNAs at $13/hour. Not much but better than $10...

I just got a job at a LTC facility. It's my first CNA job and they are starting me at $12/hr with potential yearly raises.

I am in Central Iowa.

I live in PA and my Base Pay is 12.30 an hr with shift differential

I work in the LA area in a SNF and make $13/hr. I know a few people who work in big hospitals in LA acounty and make the same
