CSUSM ABSN Summer 2020

Hi all,

Looking to apply this month for Summer 2020! Anyone else on the same boat? I am currently taking my last class so I expect to update my transcript when grades are posted mid-Decemeber. Anyone from previous cohorts had an issue with this?

I'm a little anxious about my points- I'm in the low 30s but hopefully it will be less competitive in Summer/fall!

So honestly coming for the Easy Bay, it has been super hard to complete. flu shots are not being administered anywhere so I had to go out a couple of counties to get it. Due to the overwhelmed urgent cares they’re pushing out TB tests until April. We will see if I can access a lab to get my drug screening ?

also had to renew my CPR certification which luckily they are labeled essential for the community. You shouldn’t have a problem accessing that.

WOW! I can imagine it must be very hard to do it in SF. Same thing in Temecula/Murrieta area right now. They are not doing any “elective procedures”. I’m just concerned about the deadline that csusm gives us to submit all the necessary documentation.

I have attached a screenshot of a message that current students received regarding Complio compliance. I imagine it applies to incoming students too.

The school does not expect you to be compliant before starting your first semester. It only becomes important as you prepare for your Fundamentals clinical in the second semester. They will discuss it at your orientation too.

Thank you so much for the info. It makes sense. I don’t think it’s the best time to go out to public places such as doctor offices. I just saw the “conditional admission letter”, where it states that all the Complio requirements need to be completed within the next two weeks, and found it a bit confusing.

Update on a Complio deadline. School of Nursing pushed back the deadline to 07/01/2020.

When is the Summer cohort supposed to start? Just curious if any of you that are attending know, is it going to be online to start? I applied for Fall, but just curious with everything going on and being so uncertain. If they would delay the start or have classes be online. I imagine it will be hard to be moved out there by May or so...

Classes are supposed to start June 1st. Orientation was planned for May 20th.

Someone on the FB page said that they were told the Summer classes would be online. I can't imagine they would be in person at this point.

All cohorts seem to be getting pushed back a semester the Summer cohort won’t start until fall, the Spring semester did one semester now they won’t have classes again until the fall.

Hi, just curious where you got this information? Per my advisor, they are not expecting Summer courses to be delayed and that they may be offered online.

I’m in the Spring cohort. We took the 3 required non nursing courses this semester and the director of the nursing program sent us all new plans. We now get Summer semester off and our nursing courses will begin in the fall we now graduate a semester later. Yes for the school classes are being moved online, but nursing can’t exactly follow and they can’t have more than one cohort taking the same courses at a time

Can someone email and verify this? Are they still going to be accepting people who applied for fall soon even if cohorts do get pushed back ?
