CSUSM ABSN Summer 2020

Updated:   Published

Hi all,

Looking to apply this month for Summer 2020! Anyone else on the same boat? I am currently taking my last class so I expect to update my transcript when grades are posted mid-Decemeber. Anyone from previous cohorts had an issue with this?

I'm a little anxious about my points- I'm in the low 30s but hopefully it will be less competitive in Summer/fall!

Has anyone filled out & signed the HIPAA training acknowledgment form? Since it's a UCSD form, I'm not really sure what to put for Work Area, Position/Role, and Employee ID (I think this is the last 4 digits of SSN, but just want to make sure).

Specializes in NICU.

I wasn’t sure either. For work area, I put CSUSM ABSN Cohort 37 and for role, I put student. ??‍♀️ For ID I put 00 and then the last 4 of my SSN. I just submitted it yesterday, so I don’t know if it’s compliant yet.

Cool thank you for letting me know! I just checked and it starts June 1st. Do you know what area/city would be a good place to start looking for housing?

Hi! I had 43 points ?

Hi! ? Just curious but did you originally submit your application to be considered for the Fall cohort and they offered you Summer cohort?

That’s what I did and mine is compliant ?

Hi! Yes I originally applied for fall 2020 but I was accepted for Summer 2020. I found it weird too because as soon as I got an acceptance email I received another email stating “application received” for Summer 2020? It’s cool with me it just means I need to figure out my plans sooner than I anticipated.

Oh that's awesome! When did you submit your application?

Hi there! I applied mid Jan, after the Summer deadline for sure. Which is why it caught me off guard that I was admitted for Summer LOL

congrats!! Does that mean that those with 32 were also admitted for Summer? I remember seeing some still waiting to hear and I believe they had 32 points. anyone accepted with 32 or less points for Summer?

I was the one with 32 points and I’m still waiting to hear back. Based on this forum the lowest that got in so far was 33 points

Hope you hear positive news soon! Seeing as to how last year (fall & Summer) people with 29 got in, I'm surprised they haven't accepted those with at least 30 & above for Summer - especially those who applied by the priority deadline. Again - I hope you hear positive news soon. I'm looking at Fall 2020...

Wishing you the best of luck! ♥️

I believe CSUSM admits people based off rolling admission. The Temecula Summer start date allows more people because many people decline their spot. Based on past forums, they see the cost and change their mind, they got accepted into a local CCC and end up withdrawing their spot, and the Summer admit program is at Temecula (for some reason this is a less desirable campus site than San Marcos) which deters people.

I originally applied for Spring 2020, but it was more competitive because it’s location and most CCCs don’t accept applications for Spring semester, so not many people deferred their spot. Spring 2020 lowest acceptance points was 34(I think)I had 33 and my application was rolled over to Summer.

also I noticed a trend at every college is that the points admitted gets higher every year because this is becoming an increasingly desirable program in California. So, expect that it’s going to go up one point at least based on previous years/semesters due to a an increasing competitive aspect.

I personally will only attend CSUSM if I don’t get into my local CCC (I won’t find out until May 15 ?)
