CSU's not accepting new students for spring 2010?

Anyone else see in SFGATE that the CSU system will not be accepting applications in August for spring 2010 as was previously stated. It's also on the CSU MENTOR site. What the hell? Does this affect nursing schools? So far the Humboldt State site hasn't changed--it still reads that the application for spring will become available in August. If they aren't accepting applications through the CSU Mentor, then how are we supposed to then apply to the nursing programs that have spring admissions?

According to what has been announced, CSU campsues are closed to all majors. In the past, impacted campuses have closed to most all majors - nursing and engineering were the exceptions. Don't expect that to be the case this year due to the budget crisis.

Sorry you're going through this - MANY students are stuck in this mess.

I can't believe this! I'm at work right now and have to go home and check this out. Does this include ALL CSU's!? Even the ones who had previously stated that they'd be accepting applications for Spring?! For example...Long Beach? Sac?!!

I called Humboldt State SON on Monday and the woman I spoke with said they don't know if the program will go forward for spring. The CSU hasn't given them a definitive answer and she suggested that I call back closer to August 1. So this probably means all CSU Schools of Nursing that planned on having spring admissions are waiting to hear word from the CSU.

Damn this ain't good news. Luckly I applied to before July 6th for the winter quarter.

Does anyone know what will happen to those who applied to the winter 2010 quarter(for quarter campuses)? I read from csumentor.edu's alert that those who already applied for winter 2010 before July 6th will be reviewed but does anyone know other info?

yes. ALL CSUs. so If you applied for the spring 2010, you will not get in and probably recieve a refund for your application fee.

It's only those who applied for the winter that might make it if you applied before July 6th.

I have not heard of this. I graduated from Humboldt and as far as I know they are still taking applications. My old Chair just had a big thing held for new applicants a few months ago. Must be a recent decision. Is there a link?
