CSUN ABSN 2015

I noticed that there wasn't a thread posted for CSUN ABSN 2015 yet so I thought I'd start one I'm currently a student at CSUN finishing my BA in psychology (I will be graduating this December). I can hardly wait to start nursing school! I wanted to start this thread so us CSUN applicants can get to know each other.

Hi! I applied to the Summer 2015 ABSN cohort. Does anyone know how they calculate points? Or make their decision on admitted applicants? There isn't much on their website. Thanks everyone! And good luck!

Hi everyone! Sorry it took me a while to respond to the question about what they said at the info session. Finals were crazy! But now on to the waiting game lol

As far as what they said at the info session I went to in October, here's what I wrote in my notes:

- the average GPA of those previously admitted was 3.4-3.9 (one person had a 3.3 I believe)

- most who were admitted had more than 100 hrs of volunteering and had straight As in the sciences

- last application period they had about 300 applicants, 80 of whom didn't have a 3.0 GPA

- most applicants had some experience with direct patient care and had some certification

- they will notify us of acceptance in February and March (April at the latest)

Oh and I forgot to say that they admit 30 to the summer cohort and 30 to the fall cohort

Anyone heard from the program yet? I know it might be too early.

Anyone got accepted to the school though?

I got the letter of admission to the fall semester but not to the nursing program yet.

I haven't heard back about CSUN graduate admission.... did they email you?

And I got an email late December from the ABSN program that they received my nursing application. I think they give out admission decisions closer to April, unfortunately.

Oh really? Yeah I got a letter in the mail.

Also Yes I got an email towards the end of the month saying they have received my application and they will let me know if I am missing something.

Well actually I think I haven't heard back from CSUN Graduate Admission because I hadn't sent in my final transcripts from Fall 2014. I got my final transcripts yesterday in the mail so I just sent it today. So hopefully that solves it!

i think graduate admissions and departmental admissions is different. I was accepted at CSUN for master of music, and apparently they still have my college transcript from last year without the prerequisite courses, but i was told that i do not need to submit another college transcript.

Yea I think only one copy because we went to csun. I'm going to call tomorrow and double check with the nursing department and I'll let you know what they say

Just got an email saying they are currently reviewing the application.....the anticipation is killing me! Are they doing interviews this year?
