I understand this as provisionally accepted into the University... Probably on the condition that you are also accepted into the nursing program?

Yes, CSUN has dorms and there are plenty of non-University apartments around the area, ranging between walking and driving distance. Yes, the area is relatively safe. Occasionally there are reports of some hoodlums or robbers but nothing major or fatal that I've ever heard.

btw, i applied almost close to the deadline, 11/30, so I don't think they're reading the applications in order. I almost forgot to the university LOL. also, i didn't receive a provsional acceptance from the university because they needed an updated transcript from my university.
Can someone advise me on housing near CSUN?

There's plenty of housing options in the area. They're not cheap (depends what you're used to.), prices are around $1,900-$2000/month for a a two-bedroom. Many students rent apartments two to a room for a total of four housemates per apartment. It's usually more wallet-friendly that way.

Hi all,

I got accepted for the Summer 2015 cohort yesterday. Very excited!!! I was just wondering if other CSUN ABSN students here can give me a heads up as to when the summer semester will start. I am invited to a wedding at the end of May back in the home country that I need to RSVP yay or nay. I tried calling the Nursing Dept to ask them, but was told to wait for more information - they couldn't give me a start date or general idea. What day did previous summer semesters start?

My name is Joy and I'm currently in Cohort 14. Congrats on getting into the Summer cohort! I believe we started the day after Memorial Day if that helps any. I remember doing some med dosage calculations and answering questions from the Fundamentals of Nursing book on Memorial Day because it was due the first day of class . At the information session the admissions person instructed us to place a #1 next to whichever session we wanted to start in and a #2 for our second preference.

@edibe001 . You need to get accepted by both the nursing department and the university. your status portal should be provisionally accepted and you should get an admissions letter in the mail saying you've been provisionally accepted. on the other hand, the nursing department contacts you if you get accepted into the nursing program through E-mail. so basically, to attend teh ABSN program, you need to be acccepted by both the university and nursing program.
