I noticed that there wasn't a thread posted for CSUN ABSN 2015 yet so I thought I'd start one I'm currently a student at CSUN finishing my BA in psychology (I will be graduating this December). I can hardly wait to start nursing school! I wanted to start this thread so us CSUN applicants can get to know each other.

what is the policy on grading? For example, I've heard of schools which kick you out of the program if you fail a test or class. Does this ever happen at CSUN? Do the faculty there enjoy teaching?

I would go ahead and notify the nursing department if that would be a problem. Like David said, before you start the program, you have to do many many many many (did I say many?) clearances, certifications, ect. So that is something you want to take care of now.

P.S. Like Joy said, the NSNA will be hosting some events to help prepare the future cohorts for school. So before you start buying everything brand new (besides your name tag), come to the events, or meet some of us at your orientation because I'm sure many of us want to sell our books, scrubs, random supplies, ect.

The clinical sites vary each semester. They're relatively in a 10 mile radius around campus. We've had Northridge Hospital, Kaiser, Valley Pres, St. Joe's, and Cedar-Sinai.

Hello everyone. My name is Drea and like Lorebeth, David and Joy, I am currently in the program (cohort 15) and thought I'd pop in too to help out with any questions. Congratulations to those of you who have heard and good luck to everyone still waiting! Like Lore said, there will be a lot to get done before you start (particularly summer starts), but just know that you will be able to get it all done and we are here to help :). I'll leave my email too if you have any questions. I am more than happy to help - we all know how confusing and overwhelming it is at first so anything to alleviate some of that!

I'm tempted to call them, but I don't want to bother them I called last week and they said they wouldn't be done sending out decisions until end of March/ early April.
