CSUN ABSN 2015

Published

I noticed that there wasn't a thread posted for CSUN ABSN 2015 yet so I thought I'd start one I'm currently a student at CSUN finishing my BA in psychology (I will be graduating this December). I can hardly wait to start nursing school! I wanted to start this thread so us CSUN applicants can get to know each other.

i got a letter in the mail saying that i was accepted, not provisionally accepted. Is that a different letter that you all received?

I got a letter from CSUN offering me admission for Fall 2015, but on the web portal it says I have been provisionally accepted. Either because I still have classes in progress at a community college (not a prerequisite, unrelated to nursing) and they want the final transcript when I'm done, or because you have to get accepted into the nursing program before it becomes official. I don't know. You are talking about provisional acceptance to the university, not the ABSN program, right?

congrats to those that got in!!! for those of you who got accepted. could i please know your stats? like what you majored in as an undergrad, undergrad GPA, what was your pre-req GPA, what work experience and volunteer hospital experience do you have? thanks in advance!

I applied to fall cohort as well and did not put i was flexible =\ .

ahh good luck to us other people. CSUN is my number one choice and last school i am waiting for. i didnt get into western or apu. ill just try again next cycle then if i dont get into any. any suggestions on application improvements from those who got in? thanks!!!

did you guys get interviews? did they interview this year? b/c if they did interview, i didnt get one and i guess I am really not getting in? lol.

For those who have been accepted, if you don't mind me asking, around what time of the day did you receive the email? I just want to make sure I'm not checking my emails in the morning for no reason lol.

I received the email around 5pm on the 17th. I had to respond till the 24th. There will be probably few people who won't accept CSUN's offer, so some of you will hear from CSUN this week :D fingers crossed

No interviews this year!

Has anyone spoken with the Nursing Department to see if it will affect our chances of being accepted if we did not state that we are flexible and only marked Fall 2015??

Hey current ABSN students and past grads: do you have any recommendations for pre-nursing school reading?

I recently found a blog called straightAnursingstudent with a lot of good info. Turns out that blogger wrote an ebook (short, $6 on Amazon). I just finished it and it really gave me a much better idea of what I'm in for, as well as some good information/tips on organization and scheduling. It's called Nursing School Thrive Guide - I recommend it.

Anything else worth looking into?

has anyone submitted their acceptance of offer and heard back? i emailed and called to confirm and when should we expect the next step?

I called them today to confirm if they received my letter of acceptance. They told me that maybe at the beginning of next week we will receive some info about the background check.

I wish I could just know, and I too didn't know about the 'flexible'. Gr!! Also: My Northridge portal just says that it has received my application - there doesn't seem to be any indication that I've been accepted? Am I alone on this??

Hey everyone! Congrats to those whom have already heard back! Did you guys get an email sent to your personal email account or your CSUN email? I haven't received anything yet, and I applied for Fall 2015. Didn't realize you could have chosen to be flexible and get placed in summer or fall  wishing everyone the best of luck! Hope we all get some good news!

I got it from the email that was listed on the application
