CSUN ABSN 2014

Is anyone applying to CSUN's ABSN program (2014 cohort)??? I know their application deadline is coming up but the info on their website is out of date and there's no application available on the site. I tried contacting the department via email and phone but no response/answer. Anyone having better luck applying than me?

Hi there. I've been accepted to CSUN's Fall-start ABSN (Cohort 15). I just got an e-mail yesterday that explained the orientation for Cohort 15 will be April 25, not the 18th!

Yes, our original email said the 18th and the email this week said the 25th but I have an obligation that day that I can't get out of so they said I could go to the summer orientation on the 18th. I thought there might be a few other people that were accepted to Fall but can only make the orientation on the 18th...

I'm in the Fall cohort and I will be attending the orientation on the 18th. I have a wedding to attend on the 25th. I'll see you there!

How funny... The reason I'm going on the 18th is because I have a wedding on the 25th as well!!!! See you there.

I'm on the same boat. I've already been accepted to other programs and have decided to follow through with one of them but still because CSUN was so much closer, it still would be nice to at least HEAR something from them. I received a "we are still reviewing your application" email on March 21st and that has been it. I called the nursing dept (many many times) and up to that date I was told my application might have not even been completely looked at yet. Really disappointed me since from what I hear, they have already taken on acceptances, declines, and alternates. Also, my friend submitted all paperwork (I verified her application) and they told her it was incomplete....so they lost it maybe? idk. I know CSUN is a great nursing program, really, but the administration has REALLY disappointed me.

For those of you who were able to switch orientation dates, were they pretty ok with the switch? I'm in the Summer cohort and just asked if I could attend the Fall orientation being held on the 25th. I have flights booked for the Easter weekend, and they were booked weeks ago.

I'm in the same situation as your friend. I was denied due to a missing transcript and even though I have email confirmation that the transcript was sent, the Nursing Department said they never received it and that there's nothing else I can do about it. I emailed the Chair of the Nursing Department and I would advise your friend to do the same if he/she has documentation that everything was sent.

The e-mail I received just gave the date and time, but it mentioned that another e-mail with more details will be on the way. I hope that includes location!
