Is anyone applying to CSUN's ABSN program (2014 cohort)??? I know their application deadline is coming up but the info on their website is out of date and there's no application available on the site. I tried contacting the department via email and phone but no response/answer. Anyone having better luck applying than me?

Does anybody happen to have any information on employment percentages after graduating from CSUN ABSN? Any ABSN graduates know how easy/difficult it is to find a job after CSUN's program?

Hi everyone! I just stopped by to congratulate everyone who has been admitted to CSUN's program and to wish all the best to those still waiting! I recently graduated from the program and wanted to let you know that on facebook, there is a group that a classmate of mine set up called "CSUN Questions & Connections" (if you search for it, it will show up). There you'll be able to ask questions to current students (since some of the faculty & policies have changed) as well as review questions that have been posted by those same cohorts (which may provide more insight to any questions/concerns). I started what was called a "brown bag meet and greet" last year and think they are doing it again this year for those who have been admitted. You can probably get more information on the fb group.

@almondhoneybee - I don't have specific information on employment percentages after graduation. However, some of the hospitals that have hired some of my classmates include Cedars, UCLA, and CHLA. I do know that there was a huge issue with the BRN changing to a new government computer system, so many of us had to wait 90 days to get an authorization to test (meaning we were approved to take the NCLEX) and then had to schedule a date (which in my case, I finally took and passed the NCLEX in mid-March after graduating in December and having sent my application to take the NCLEX in November).

The CSUN program is really good at preparing you for med-surg and critical thinking. I loved my hospital rotations and my clinical instructors. It is a lot of information in a short amount of time, but I feel very prepared to be a bedside nurse.

wow that is so nice of you guys @happyperson2 !! I can tell its going to be an amazing program already with the great support past students are willing to give. I declined my csun spot for azusa pacific and cannot find students (apart from one student) willing to share their experience. You guys are very very lucky! :)
