Hello those-who-have-graduated-from-CSUN-ABSN-Program (I hope some of you read this and will be able to give me some advice), I was accepted into Fall 2014 CSUN ABSN cohort and would like to if anyone has an input on employment after graduating from CSUN? Is it relatively hard/easy and do you feel like this program gives you the ability to compete with all the other nurses out there? THANK YOU!!

MzJazBerri, my friend who went to grad school at Duke suggested to live at The Belmont. It's close to the SON and it's affordable

liliping, congrats on getting into Duke!!! :) I got in as well, but I'm leaning towards UNC. It would be great if you could tell me a few apartment complexes! I was searching for some apts but didn't know if they were good. How did your sister and sister-in-law like UNC and Duke?? I'm not sure how to send a PM on this website, if that is possible, but you can do that if you want. I want to find a cheap-ish place with my own bedroom and bathroom. Thank you!

destiny_23, Vanessa said it very well. I'm glad Vanessa confirmed what I've been trying to figure out too. I wanted to know whether I should go to a school that was ranked higher, but costs a LOT more, or a school that will teach you the same things, isn't ranked as high, and is affordable. Nurses say it doesn't matter which school you go to, as long as the NCLEX pass rates are high. Everyone who passes becomes an RN and all RNs get paid the same, no matter which school you went to. The nurses I've asked all say IT DOES NOT MATTER. It depends on you as the nurse, if you go out there and find opportunities yourself. She's trained and worked with nurses who came from USF, UCSF, John Muir and CSM and she said she'd choose the nurse from CSM. A charge nurse said, look at all the nurses here (in San Francisco's Seton Medical Center), none of them came from Stanford or another really good school. She said just go to one where you can stay close to home and costs less. But if you want to run away from family and money isn't a factor, then you should do what will make you happy (haha). And to get hired, you have to sell yourself.
