CSUN ABSN 2014

Is anyone applying to CSUN's ABSN program (2014 cohort)??? I know their application deadline is coming up but the info on their website is out of date and there's no application available on the site. I tried contacting the department via email and phone but no response/answer. Anyone having better luck applying than me?

Congratulations to all of you that were accepted into Summer/Fall, 2014 ABSN programs. I was so devastated when I got a rejection email from CSUN last Friday. Oh well, I really tried my best. I am crossing my fingers for Concordia, hopefully they will accept me (interviewed there, didn't get an interview at CSUN). Good luck to all of you.

Just in case you are curious, this is what they e-mailed me last Friday:

Thank you for your interest in the California State University Northridge (CSUN) A-BSN Nursing Program. The Admission Committee has completed its review of applicants for the 2014 enrollment.

We are grateful for the time you invested in researching the university and for completing your application. Due to the overwhelming number of applications, the selection process was very challenging. Regretfully, we are unable to offer you admission to the A-BSN program for this year.

If you wish to reapply for 2015, the deadline is November 30, 2014. A new application form will be available online on the CSUN nursing web page Nursing | California State University, Northridge.

In closing, we want you to know that you have honored us with your interest in CSUN A-BSN program. Your application received deliberate and thoughtful consideration from the Admission Committee and we appreciate your application to CSUN. Best wishes for success in all your future endeavors.

Hi bekindtoothers,

I wish you luck on Concordia's application cycle. It's a tough journey on the road to getting accepted into nursing programs but having lots of options is good. I got invited to interview at CSUN, CSUF and Concordia. I got denied at CSUF the week before last and I denied Concordia's interview invite because they had let me know there was some issue with one of my pre req Psyc courses, so I figured I didn't have much of a chance there. I truly think that everything happens for a reason. I had a pretty crazy and stressful day last Friday and got off of work to find out that I was accepted to CSUN after ups and downs the past few years of pre reqs. Keep your chin up and hopefully some good news will come to you soon!

Dear Never Never Give Up,

Thank you so much for the kind words. The competition is very tough out there but I do agree with you, that everything happens for a reason. I picked myself up after getting the rejection e-mail and have moved on to more positive things. I am hoping for the best with Concordia. If that does not work out, I have already been looking into Entry-Level Master's Programs and am currently studying for my TEAS exam. It would be nice to get into an ABSN though, so I can start working after 1 year (Concordia is 1 year), and gain field experience as an RN, before moving onto a Master's. I really wish you good luck at CSUN, you will be a great nurse one day in the near future.

i hope those of you that are trying to switch from summer to fall aren't able to. there re only 30 spots for each and if you switch you could be taking a spot away from an alternate which isn't fair. You would be taking a spot away from me. Please be grateful that you got in and give those of us who are alternates the same chance to get in

So I got an email last Friday saying they are still reviewing. No acceptance or rejection. Do you think that means I'm an alternate maybe? Congrats to everyone!!

H! That was the response I got too but then I got in this week so I think it's just they haven't gotten to everyone's at the same time. Good luck!!

Hey guys! I too got the email last friday saying they are still reviewing. But they haven't emailed me anything yet. I called and they said I still have a transcript missing. maybe that is why. what email do they send them out Personal or student csun email?

They sent mine to the email I provided on the application... which was my personal email. Good luck! Hopefully you guys get an acceptance email soon! Don't give up hope!
