CSUN ABSN 2014

Is anyone applying to CSUN's ABSN program (2014 cohort)??? I know their application deadline is coming up but the info on their website is out of date and there's no application available on the site. I tried contacting the department via email and phone but no response/answer. Anyone having better luck applying than me?

Never Never Give Up- Do you want to start the Facebook group for Summer Cohort 14?? I would but I'm not that tech saavy with Facebook and it seems like people were having trouble finding the Facebook for the Fall cohort. It would be greatly appreciated! :)

I've created the Facebook group! It is a closed group titled "CSUN ABSN Summer 2014". Hopefully you guys are able to find it, but if not, let me know and I'll see what I can do. I believe I have to approve you in order to add, and I've added my mom as a member because in order to create a group, you have to add a friend, so I thought that would be a safe bet! ;)

Got in to summer ABSN, haven't confirmed yet. Did anyone go to the campus and view the facilities or speak to staff more specifically? What are your favorite features about the nursing program?

The campus is nice-- it is very large and clean! I was there yesterday checking out the school and the area. The nursing department is in Jacaranda Hall. The gym (rec center) especially, was my favorite part. I haven't spoken to any staff since my interview. I understand the clinical sites are around the CSUN area, but I think they rotate locations every so often. This program is high intensity because it is 15 months and it's not recommended to work while in the program, but it's a great opportunity to become an RN in a timely manner. Many RN programs are two years but I think I most like that you can start working quickly upon graduation and passing the NCLEX, which I've noticed does have pretty great scores!

Never Never Give Up: Thanks for the info :) i tried researching on craigslist too, but I definitely want to make a trip up there to check places out in person like you did! my email is [email protected] if you are interested in rooming or even just want to carpool up there again to check more housing out!

No problem! I'm so glad this site is available for us to help each other out. I think that would be a great idea. I will send you an email shortly. I also started the Facebook group if you do that too. You can search " CSUN ABSN Summer 2014 " :)

My family is from mission viejo too! Nice lol. I checked out the school and read as much as i could about the program but felt I didn't find much out about their sim labs or when they start getting into clinicals and such.. Really interested in the interworkings I guess, I have gotten into a few programs that are 12-15 months and kinda trying to compare
