Published

Hi everyone! As CSU applications open up, I wanted to start a thread for all of my fellow pre-nursing students looking to transfer to CSULB!

Hello, guys just took my TEAS. Feeling defeated but here are my stats.

Science GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 4.0/2= 2.0

Reading: 1.574

Cumulative: 1.76

Total Score: 9.334

Does anybody know the point cut off last year?

Hi!! Don’t feel too discouraged, I think you still have a chance! I don’t know the cutoff from 2020 but in 2019 it was around 9.32 for the interview based on a previous forum I looked at! I think things might be easier/harder bc of covid but I’m not sure how it’ll affect application amounts/admissions.

Hi yall
I got into the program in Spring 2021. To give yall a head up, I got waitlisted at first, with my criteria score being a 9.5. I am also a CSULB pre-nursing student. Fall might be a bit more competitive due to the larger applicant pool and covid.

Ahh so nerve wracking! Thanks for the info though! I have a 9.53 and I’m hoping I’ll get into the communication exercise. I have lots of volunteer, leadership, and CNA hospital based experience so I feel like as long as I get the communication invite I should be fine. Anyone know when they start sending out communication exercise invitations? Also is that going to be over zoom due to covid restrictions or?

Hey guys,

Took the proctored, online TEAS test this past Friday and got an email after completing it saying they sent my scores to CSULB. I tried calling admissions today to confirm they received my scores but they couldn’t find anything. Anyone know of a way to confirm CSULB got my scores?

Also my scores are as follows:

TEAS Total: 92.0%

TEAS Reading: 97.9%

Science GPA: 4.00

GE GPA: 3.54

Total: 9.568

Also I’m applying as a 2nd Bachelors degree. Does that change my chances? I am hoping my score is enough... good luck to everyone.

Welcome!

I have a 9.57 and it looks like we’re pretty much in the same boat but I’m also super nervous about my score. Folks who shared their score on the Fall 2020 thread and got invited to the comm exercise seemed to have a +9.6 but every applicant pool is different.

Best of luck to all of us!!

Ya I was nervous about my score too!! I decided to take the TEAS again last minute to try and improve my overall. Thank you and best of luck to you too!!

Hey guys, does anyone else’s school count English as 3.5 semester units? If so how did you go about filling out the SON application? I’m unsure of what semester unit option to choose from since they don’t have an option for 3.5 units ?

I would try reaching out to the School of Nursing! Not sure whether our scores are getting sent to admissions or SON from ATI.

I am also a 2nd degree applicant. Not sure if they give priority to undergrads or not, but according to past threads I don't think it matters. Good luck to you!!

On another note, does anyone know if we are supposed to send AP scores now or if that's something we send if we are conditionally accepted (like official transcripts)?

Hello everyone, took the TEAS today and finish the nursing application just now. Here are my final stats:

Science GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 4.0/2= 2.0

Reading:  1.618

Cumulative: 1.866

Total Score: 9.484

I have a question. Do I have to submit the transcripts right now or only when they ask me for them? I know it's too late to ask but I hope someone sees this and responds.

Don’t submit transcripts unless they request you to do so ?

I electronically sent in my TEAS score last week as well and sent [email protected] an email asking to confirm my submission. In the past, my emails to them never get responded to but I just got a reply and they received both my TEAS and application! I’m sure you’ll get a concrete answer by emailing them instead of calling admissions ?

Yes I emailed SON and they got back to me saying they got it. Thank you!

Hi friends! I was wondering if anyone knew if CSULB was planning on accepting a smaller pool of applicants this round? I know a few colleges are planning to because of how unsure placements are with COVID, but I don't think I've heard anything about LB.

My scores are:

TEAS: 92

TEAS reading: 97.9

GPA: 4/2 = 2

Science GPA = 4

so I have 9.798 points rounded to 9.8? I would usually be confident but with everything going on now I'm not so sure! I honestly thought my scores would be enough but for some other colleges, I barely meet the mark ?

Also, does anyone know if we have to be CPR certified? I remember seeing something about it on their website so I'm wondering if I should take a certification course now.
