  1. No, but they told us we'd be tested on our EKGs at some point... Did you? Also NOOO!! I don't want a project ?
  2. I wish I knew ? All they told us was that it's going to be classroom work, simulations, VR, and floor orientation. I hope we don't have any projects... but I know Kaiser NorCal has their new grads do an evidence-based project so maybe?
  3. Wow, having to do it all over again sounds like a drag... They only gave me a schedule for the month of July (and not even all of it) but for the most part, it's every day. Some days are 8-430, some are 1-5, some are 8-10... so it's not exactly what they said. It sucks though because some of the training centers are an hour away from me and we'll only be there for a couple of hours at most!!
  4. I did! It's almost all of July but there are a few dates that don't have anything stated that are apparently going to be unit-specific training days... Yes! But I think it'll be different for you because I don't think they'll have you come all the way to Irvine...? I'm just upset that it's business casual because my talent acquisition liaison told me it would be casual ??
  5. I'm glad it worked out! Did they give you your training schedule yet? So exciting! Do you know what unit you'll be on? I heard they tell us after orientation...
  6. Irvine! Is your start date the 8th too? If so, that's kind of crazy that they haven't had you complete the onboarding yet!! Have you tried emailing anyone? Although I just had my I9 this week...
  7. Hello all! I wanted to create a thread for those of us that are STARTING a Kaiser SoCal residency in July. I'd love to be able to connect with anyone in the area that is starting around the same time, and also to exchange information we have received!
  8. I heard back on Thursday at around 3:30 PM
  9. To answer your first post, IFL the SDSU thread isn't really active in general, although I did just post there about my dilemma! I'm not really in a rush to graduate either way so I'm hoping to be in the semester cohort for LB if I end up committing, but it definitely depends on the person! I don't know people at either school so it's nice to make friends on here!
  10. I know most people make FB groups but I don't use it, although I can for this reason if needed... Did both of you commit to LB?
  11. OMG, I never thought of that... you're totally right ???
  12. Thank you so much for the lengthy response, I genuinely really appreciate it! For me, there are a lot of factors as well. I have more family in the LB area, including my sister. I will be a commuter either way so living in dorms/ going to a commuter/ non-commuter school doesn't really matter to me. I really wish I could've gone and visited the campuses. LB has a higher NCLEX pass rate than SDSU but they're both great programs and it really does depend on the student. I also got into SJSU but I didn't really want to go because I wanted to move to Southern California regardless. It would be either 1.5 or 2.5 years at CSULB compared to 3 at SDSU which isn't much of a difference. I don't really know anyone at either. Both have good relationships/ agreements with nearby hospitals. I am losing my mind! Did you apply to CSULB?
  13. I'm actually going to be a commuter as well, so things like the dorms/ being a non-commuter at a commuter campus don't exactly apply to me, but thank you for the advice regardless!
  14. Hey guys, Is anyone else here trying to decide between SDSU and another program? I got into CSULB and I'm really struggling to choose. I posted over on that board as well to gain some insight, so I'm wondering what you guys think well! Thanks!
  15. Thank you @cremebrule @Cenovial !! I actually live in the Bay Area right now, so I'm basically just trying to pick which Southern California I'd rather be in! I understand that SDSU has a more outgoing atmosphere than CSULB as I've heard that as well, but I'm also taking into consideration that because we are such small cohorts of nursing we are bound to bond with each other. Other than that, 3 years is sort of a long-ish time and I guess I have to decide if that is worth it for me. Academics-wise, LB has a higher pass rate than SD, but it honestly depends on the student. I also have family and a sister in the area so it would be nice to be near them, but I honestly don't know. Really wish I could've gone there in person and toured! ?
