CSULB Nursing Fall 2021

Hi everyone! As CSU applications open up, I wanted to start a thread for all of my fellow pre-nursing students looking to transfer to CSULB!

Thanks for starting a thread! Super curious to see how this year's applications go. I feel silly asking but does CSULB use a points system similar to the other CSUs? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place but I'm not seeing that they list anything other than the statistics of those admitted.

Hey! I've been mainly focusing on getting accepted into CSULB (my top choice) so I haven't gotten to fully look at other CSUs. But I can tell you that CSULB's point system is:

(TEAS reading x 0.02) + (TEAS overall x 0.02) + (GE GPA/2) + (Science GPA)

Hope this helps!

Thanks for starting this! I am applying for Fall of 2021 as a second degree applicant and am super excited!

Yeah of course! Congratulations good luck my friend ?

Thanks so much!! Is there somewhere on the website that you found that? I couldn't find a page that listed their points system. I'm assuming that is the extent of their evaluation? No consideration for other things like other CSUs e.g. healthcare work experience, volunteer work

Hi, I think I can answer your question! As far as I know, they took their points system off their website awhile ago, but it has been posted in past forums here. They use the points system for evaluation on who gets invited to the communication exercise. Unlike other CSU's, I don't believe they take any other work/experience into consideration.

Hi guys! :)

I am also applying for Fall 2021.

I am so happy their traditional basic BSN app isn't due until Feb 10 as I am retaking one of the prereqs.

Also, does anyone know what the minimum points you'd need to get invited to the communication exercise?

Question: does anyone know if we have to have ALL science prerequisites completed when submitting our application? Or can one of them still be in progress?

I'm pretty sure any course that isn't completed is counted as a C. I am currently taking Microbiology and am waiting until the final grades are posted before I submit my application so that my actual grade is counted!

Has anyone submitted their official transcripts to CSULB? I received an email saying they're due Nov 15 and I've already sent them (with some courses IP during Fall 2020) but it still says they haven't been received. I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for CSULB to process electronic transcripts? Thank you!

I did. I also received that email so I sent my transcript. The first one I sent was an e-transcript so it was sent in about an hour but it still showed that they hadn’t received it. I emailed [email protected] and they were able to confirm they received it and updated my file.
