CSULB Nursing Fall 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! As CSU applications open up, I wanted to start a thread for all of my fellow pre-nursing students looking to transfer to CSULB!

Thank you @cremebrule @Cenovial !! I actually live in the Bay Area right now, so I'm basically just trying to pick which Southern California I'd rather be in! I understand that SDSU has a more outgoing atmosphere than CSULB as I've heard that as well, but I'm also taking into consideration that because we are such small cohorts of nursing we are bound to bond with each other. Other than that, 3 years is sort of a long-ish time and I guess I have to decide if that is worth it for me. Academics-wise, LB has a higher pass rate than SD, but it honestly depends on the student. I also have family and a sister in the area so it would be nice to be near them, but I honestly don't know. Really wish I could've gone there in person and toured! ?

trust me go to sdsu the vibes are great and the campus is beautiful plus housing is better and you will make a lot more connections there since lb is a commuter campus

any more acceptances or rejections sent out yet ?

I'm actually going to be a commuter as well, so things like the dorms/ being a non-commuter at a commuter campus don't exactly apply to me, but thank you for the advice regardless!

I’ll make it easy for you. Choose LB because you love me

OMG, I never thought of that... you're totally right ???

And me... I don’t even know who y’all are ?

Does that mean you got admitted [as a csulb pre-nursing student]?

I know most people make FB groups but I don't use it, although I can for this reason if needed... Did both of you commit to LB?

Yessir! so I guess I’m a little biased because I already made friends in LB and I love it there.

Y’all mentioned that SDSU is a 3 year program... but isn’t CSULB trimester like 1.5 years? So if you’re trying to become a nurse ASAP and save some cash, I feel like that distinction alone makes it an obvious choice.

I really do hope you guys come to LB though. I like meeting new folks, especially the ones who are active on forums like this. I just know we’ll get along.. which begs the question, how active are you guys on the SDSU thread compared to here?

Ya, I committed :). And I was just thinking that, so we don’t spam on here. I have a bunch of questions regarding housing and stuff and what people’s plans are.

To answer your first post, IFL the SDSU thread isn't really active in general, although I did just post there about my dilemma! I'm not really in a rush to graduate either way so I'm hoping to be in the semester cohort for LB if I end up committing, but it definitely depends on the person! I don't know people at either school so it's nice to make friends on here!
