Hey everyone!
Did anyone else apply to CSULB for Fall 2014? The school app was due last Saturday, and then we have the month of January to submit for the School of Nursing.
Based on previous threads, it looks like we are invited to an interview about a month after the deadline, and the cutoff was ~9.1 points.
Here are my stats so we can see how we stand this year!
Science GPA: 3.58
GE GPA: 3.77
TEAS: 97.3
TEAS Math: 100
I think that works out to about 9.4 points... the average keeps rising each year, so it would be nice to see where we all fall!
Good luck everyone :)
These were the stats from last year
Fall 2013 Stats
452 total applicants
Rating: 9.15-9.98
82 Students Admitted
Average Science GPA 3.9
Average GE GPA 3.84
TEAS Test 87.74
TEAS Math 93.77
The lowest admitted applicant was in the 9.15 range and they were an alternate, so it will be interesting to see how much the stats have increased from this time last year.
I had 9.18.... No interview... I have 4.0 gpa, and did great on teas.... was a 9.6, but my in progress class dropped me to 9.1.
Now i will be accepted to my other applied school, csula (because they dont penalize for in progress class)
I know if i apply for spring @ LB i will make it, but that means i have to turn down csula... Crappy decisions.
UCLA doesn't even penalize for in progress classes. Who does cal state LB think they are? A Harvard extension? ...lol
Just called... NOT ONE applicant w/ an in-progress class was admitted.
Lowest score accepted, 9.36
The lowest alternate has a 9.26.
She told me to apply for spring with micro complete and there is no way i will not be admitted, as i will then have a 9.62.
There were 604 applicants. This was the highest cutoff score they have had.
She assured me that the people starting in Spring semester finish only 12 weeks behing fall starters. And, because they are so backed up with paperwork at that time, graduation is held at the same time for both cohorts.
She also told me that the trimester program is easier to get into for Spring starters, because many fall starters opt out of the trimester (they want summer break)
She ended the conversation with, "Your scores are excellent; just reapply when the class is finished, and I will see you in the spring".
You didn't see the class in progress rule when you applied? Its been that way for a while.I would just start csula if I were you, I heard they have a great program.
I knew, but i thought my medical background/grades/score might still get me in. Why would they allow someone to apply with no chance of getting in?
Anyway. I will just start in the Spring. And finish 12 weeks later, no big deal....
After grinding so hard for the last few years with school/the ambulance job, It will be nice to take a vacation before I start the program. Maybe catch some nice winter surf back in hawaii for a few weeks to get my chi refreshed...

yeah same here, I just contacted them and they said it was a 9.26. Idk... must have something to do with the calculations unless they already have their associate degree in which case they would have priority.
