Hey everyone!
Did anyone else apply to CSULB for Fall 2014? The school app was due last Saturday, and then we have the month of January to submit for the School of Nursing.
Based on previous threads, it looks like we are invited to an interview about a month after the deadline, and the cutoff was ~9.1 points.
Here are my stats so we can see how we stand this year!
Science GPA: 3.58
GE GPA: 3.77
TEAS: 97.3
TEAS Math: 100
I think that works out to about 9.4 points... the average keeps rising each year, so it would be nice to see where we all fall!
Good luck everyone :)
How did you guys find out you got accepted? Was it via email or did they send a letter in the mail? Just curious, since I haven't received anything... Not even a rejection letter and interviews were already conducted.
kd94, What were your points? And I haven't received a rejection letter, but I'm sure we will receive them soon. I think those accepted were notified via email.

I don't remember exactly, but I think it was around an 8.9-9, so I know for a fact that I didn't get in since the cut off was at 9.3 this year. I think it's just odd that they haven't sent anything out yet! Especially since they even emailed me for verification that I took the wet lab at Coastline. I would imagine they would send out rejection letters before acceptance (or interview) ones...
Hey! I was in that group! It was nice meeting you too! Also, the cutoff wasn't 9.3. From what I know, about 5 of my friends who applied were around the 9.0 range and still got interviews.
Seriously? I had a 9.19. That seems VERY unfair to me. I was told that a lot of people were in the 9.2 range. Do you think they were around 9.2 or even lower? Did they verify their points with the nursing department?

I was guessing that too, but I double-checked their points as well using the calculation system that the nursing department told me to use and they were all in the 9.00-9.06 range. I'm thinking that the change to the TEAS test and how you could only take it once within 30 days, may have lowered the average applicant scores for this semester. Since in previous semesters, people could take the test as many times as they wanted within 30 days and get roughly the same test and just memorize the questions for a better grade.

Yes, that was some last minute notice. Just glad that that was over with. By the way, did anyone ever ask for your 2x2 photo? I just realized I never turned it in as I was driving home. I'm sure it's not a big deal but I just find it weird that they would ask us to bring one and they wouldn't ask for it...
