CSULB Fall 2014
congrats on getting in!!! no we don't need flu shots yet I don't think. And just put no for the problem indication. If you mess up anything they will inform you, it was a lot of stuff to get done on that website! I think you still need to show your titers for chicken pox.. Always show titers for everything and make sure you show quantitative titers where they say they need it. I'm in group F but I'm sure we will all get to know each other

you get a card with your name on it and write check the box for basic or trimester. of the 70 students, 40 must go to trimester and 30 must go to basic. there were too many in basic and not enough in trimester this time around. So, for example, I think there were 38 who signed up for trimester and 32 who signed up for basic. 2 people, chosen at random from the stack of cards in the basic pile, were called out and told they were being moved to trimester. In past semesters, there have been too many in trimester, so they pulled X amount of trimester cards at random and had to place them into basic. bottom line, you are not guaranteed which program you get into if they have to pull people from one program and put them in the other. SO, you could get into trimester, but they need 2 more in basic, and they pick YOUR card and you automatically get switched because NO ONE volunteers to switch to even out the groups. like I said, stay at LA or risk it.

it was right down the middle pretty much. there will always be a couple people who must switch to the other route but they are chosen at random and don't have a choice in the matter. This time around I think 1 or 2 people had to be moved to trimester to fill the 40 spots, but I know each incoming class is different. You request where you want to go, they tally up the totals, and then draw names at random and move them if they need to. There are no guarantees and if I were you I would stay at LA and not risk it. I got lucky, but other don't.

the only way someone probably wouldn't pass the interview is if they couldn't speak English, or if they totally froze during the whole things. Besides that, I've never heard of anyone not passing. If you get an interview, then that is one step closer to being accepted so be excited!

CSULB Fall 2014
Unfortunately I don't think we're allowed to discuss the specifics but if you can speak English, can communicate with others, can give and take directions, and can write well, then you will be fine. Its not stressful, its fun and easy going. Think of it as a group activity and not a traditional interview and just remember that everyone is just as nervous as you are!
