CSULB Fall 2015 Applicants-Basic BSN

Published

I am extremely surprised there isn't a thread that exists for students applying to CSU LB for Fall 2015!!

Here are my stats, but enlighten me on one part, what does the general gpa consist of? I actually went to CSULB and met Monalisa, but she said the nursing program only looks at eight classes... Maybe I should call to reassure how they calculate the cummulative GPA, but my other scores are set.

Science GPA: 4.0: 4

TEAS Math: 100 : 2

TEAS Overall: (90.7x2)100:1.814

GE GPA: TBA

So far so good, but being that a 3.0 is the cut off gpa for general and science for the program I am giving myself a 3.0/2= 1.5 as a score and my points would be a 9.314 as a default. Hopefully it will be higher.

I received the email last Friday and the portion under "submit official admission verification documents" is blank. After activating and logging into myCSULB, I couldn't even find the "To Do List." :( I'm assuming as well that they're requesting transcripts.

I vaguely recall ---------------- saying to send in our transcripts once we get selected, but I don't remember if it is to the SON or to the office of admissions. Does anyone know?

Log into MyCSULB and click student center. You'll see 'to-do's' on the right. If your like some of us, there won't be anything to do.

I personally just sent my transcripts anyways but someone here said that they called admissions and admissions said that we didn't have to if we got accepted to the SON. If you get a definitive answer for what we would should do, that would be great if you could post it.

Hope that helps.

I got accepted as well! :) Just ordered my transcripts to be sent to the University today.

Spoke to admissions again today... apparently checklists were not created for many of us selected for nursing. I guess its a common mistake on admissions end and they should be updated soon. Keep an eye out for your to-do list to change :)

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted into the SON!

Couple of pointers:

Designate someone to create a facebook group as soon as possible, this way everyone can learn and trade information generally faster than this forum allows. (you can add me once you do and I'll help out as much as possible)

DO NOT wait until the last minute to complete your tracker information, you will recieve more info on this soon if you haven't already.

The program itself is rough! The only real difference between trimester and semester are the breaks inbetween THATS IT. So choose which one you think would be a better fit for you. Some people like to de-stress between semesters, some want to plough right through it. There is no wrong or right decision with this. its all about your preference.

Once again, congragulations and good luck....Get started on creating that facebook page. It will save you all major headaches!

I'll volunteer to create a facebook group. Sounds like a good idea! I'll work on it today and post more info on contacts and how to find it :)

Thanks for the tips!!!

Okay all, I've created a facebook group for the fall 2015 cohort. Since some new admits may have not made their final decision yet to attend CSULB, and those on the alternate list may get bumped up and gain admission as well, the group will stay semi-open until the beginning of the fall semester. This means that all current admits and alternates are welcome and may request to join the group. However, when the fall 2015 semester begins, those not attending the program will be asked to leave/removed from the group.

You can find the group by searching "CSULB Nursing: Fall 2015" on facebook.

Thanks!

I wasn't able to find the Facebook group. Does it take a day or two to show up?

It should be up.

Look for CSULB Nursing: Fall 2015

For those of you that are having trouble finding the facebook page, look for

CSULB Nursing: Fall 2015

When you search for the group, even though nothing pops up, click enter anyways. It will then take you to the search results.

click on more and then indicate that you are searching for a group, and the page should be there!

hope that helps. There are only 4 members so far, so hopefully more people will join~

For those transferring from a community college, are you guys sending in "CSU-GE Certified Transcripts" or just regular official transcripts?

I just sent my regular transcripts. I didn't even think about sending the GE-certified ones. :wideyed:

I'm just guessing here but I don't really think it matters that much. If you got into the SON and your GE's will be done, then the school will give you the credit either way. They won't retract acceptance based on the fact that you either don't have them done or the transcripts weren't certified. Just my 2 cents.

Update as of April 3,2015:

Monalisa just sent out e-mails regarding orientation dates and more information about the contingencies of the contract mentioned on the first e-mail regarding admission to the program.
