CSULB Fall 2015 Applicants-Basic BSN

Published

I am extremely surprised there isn't a thread that exists for students applying to CSU LB for Fall 2015!!

Here are my stats, but enlighten me on one part, what does the general gpa consist of? I actually went to CSULB and met Monalisa, but she said the nursing program only looks at eight classes... Maybe I should call to reassure how they calculate the cummulative GPA, but my other scores are set.

Science GPA: 4.0: 4

TEAS Math: 100 : 2

TEAS Overall: (90.7x2)100:1.814

GE GPA: TBA

So far so good, but being that a 3.0 is the cut off gpa for general and science for the program I am giving myself a 3.0/2= 1.5 as a score and my points would be a 9.314 as a default. Hopefully it will be higher.

Does anyone have an idea of when orientation would be? Like a window?

Got my acceptance email today as well! Such a surprise. I was sure we would have to wait at least until the end of the month. Congrats to those accepted, as well as the alternates. To have even gotten on any list at this point in the process is an accomplishment :)

Hey guys, can someone tell me how the trimester program works? I know its 5 semesters including summers but do we give up 2 summers or 1 summer? If we start in fall 2015, will we be done by summer 2017 or by the end of spring 2017?

No email yet. :( if I didn't get an interview does that mean I was automatically out?

EDIT: Nevermind, just called the office and my score was too low. 9.28. I think I read that somewhere on here in previous pages but I guess I was in denial haha. Rejection letters will be send out in the next day or so.

Congratulations to those who got in!!! :)

I'm really confused. Someone earlier had said alternates could only be csulb students but another person said that they don't go to csulb and they are an alternate. I'm just really curious as to how this process works if anyone knows please enlighten me! :)

My score was 9.24 and I got an interview and I'm #18 on the alternate list. I think Mostly Csulb students are on the alternate list. Possibly people with really high scores from other schools can still be on the alternate list like that person with 9.57.

Congrats to everyone! I did not receive an invite to an interview but did receive an email stating a decision wouldn't be made until the end of March. This was my second time applying. Do you all think I am automatically out? Guess I'll be looking out for that rejection letter.

you'll be finish end of spring 17.

Orientation was said to be on first week of June, but I would still wait for that official schedule.

Thank you BasicRN1217. When I called I was told aproximately the 12th but that date was not set in stone.

Does anyone know how good of a chance we have at landing into the trimester if thats what we wanted? I want to go to CSULB specifically for the trimester program but we can't find out if we're in the trimester or semester system until after we have accepted admission.

I would guess your chances are pretty good. There are 40 trimester spots to 30 semester spots. Spring had 29 people choose trimester, and 41 wanted semester, so 11 people had to switch from semester to trimester. Can't say for sure that fall will go the same way, but your chances are definitely good. If there happens to be a few more people wanting trimester, then you just have to hope your name isnt one of the names picekd to switch.
