Hi all!
I just wanted to create this forum for students who are applying to CSULA Fall 2021 for the BSN Nursing track in case we had questions for each other, wanted to share thoughts, stats and to support each other through this journey.
I was wondering if anyone has applied and knew if CSULA requires verification for volunteer hours in their NursingCAS application portion? Also, will they accept any amount of volunteer hours under 50? I know you can add a document. Thank you!

So I didn’t actually appeal. I literally just emailed ------------------- and was like what’s the deal? Because I had insane stats so I really didn’t understand why I wasn’t accepted. I just told her my stats and asked her what was wrong with my app? She didn’t even give me a reason, just said “We re-evaluated the application and you will receive an acceptance letter soon,” which I did the next day via email. Still frustrating tho. I’m actually not sure of the appeal process. I think you just explain why you should be accepted into the program. If you are denied, there will be a link on the email explaining the process to appeal. Before doing that though, I would simply call or email first to avoid the stress of appealing for nothing LOL.

What would be the best thing to add in an appeal? Like would that mean saying why your a great candidate and explain your stats or what exactly do they ask your appeal to be

Like I mentioned above, I did not appeal so I don’t really know. I just know it gave me the option to do it. I just emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF INITIALS) my stats and asked why I was not admitted and it worked LOL. But I wouldn’t worry about appealing before you even get denied! Think positive thoughts!! YOU WILL BE ADMITTED. Put it out there LOL

No, they don’t email you if you are an alternate. They tell you you’ve been admitted later on once enough people deny their spot. I believe we received emails March 12th 2020.

Please do not post names of those in your program per Terms of Service (TOS). This also includes attempts to identify anyone using initials of names.
Thank you.
Sorry!

I'm still in progress with my fall 2020 grades and I'm just worried my fall 2020 grades won't be finalized and sent in before January.
It should be with Fall 2020 grades.
Hello,
Just to clarify, It's okay that our transcripts do not get verified by NursingCAS by January 8th as long as we submit our application on that date? (sorry, I'm kinda confused LOL)
It says: "NursingCAS will upload the official transcript(s) with the date received and then they will verify courses taken. The Patricia A. Chin School of Nursing recognizes the “verified date” as the date the transcript was received. Transcripts verified after the Patricia A. Chin School of Nursing submission date are considered as long as the application was submitted by the due date and time. Official transcripts must be received by NursingCAS no later than January 31, 2021 to be considered for FALL 2021 admission."

Thanks! What did you include in your appeal? This is the first school I've heard of that has an appeal process so I'm very curious ? Wait so they do notify you if you are on the waitlist? Or do they not say at all...
