    CSULA FALL 2020

@theealexmartin It’s legit. I got it too. I was awarded the exact same package as CSULB, so if you are waitlisted for LB, I would expect the same exact package from both schools. I’m officially going to decline CSULB’s offer. The only benefit from that school for me is the fact that I could be done faster, but everything else does not fit my lifestyle as far as distance, and the large amount of credits per semester, since I do plan on working (some semesters are 16 credits ). The last straw was to see if I would get a better financial aid package from CSULB, but I did not.... That said I’m 100% going to CSULA. Hopefully this is great news for someone on the waitlist at LB. @SceneIsNotSafe I joined the group by the way!! just waiting to be accepted. Thanks for making it

    CSULB FALL 2020

@laur2412 I would just email Nancy and ask her. It doesn’t hurt to ask. I’m sure you’ll get in. Both me and @CocoaQueen got accepted and will be going to CSULA instead, so that’s already two openings for the waitlist.

    CSULB FALL 2020

Gotcha. So LA and LB are the same cost essentially... except LB is 1 semester less. Thanks for the info !!

YASSS PACSON Also you are right about my portal saying incomplete. They said it might take a few weeks before everything is processed with transcripts, etc. so not to worry about my portal status.

    CSULB FALL 2020

I just noticed this comment. That’s insane. That better not happen to the CSU’s Seems a little dramatic since Fall 2020 doesn’t even start until August. It’s barely March. By August I’d imagine all of this will be cleared up. They should’ve at least waited it out to see what happens before completely cancelling Fall 2020.

    CSULB FALL 2020

I talked to Nancy about prices and she said that tuition is about 3,400$ but the cost of course textbooks, uniforms, a health tracker, complete required vaccinations and background check would be approximately $200 – $500 (ballpark figure). If this is true then the cost of CSULB is much less than CSULA just because of the fees alone. Not sure how accurate this is though. CSULA’s fees for additional stuff is crazy expensive in comparison (1700$). Can a current CSULB student confirm please ?

Good to know! I’ll be sure to keep July 14th and 15th free.

No, it said nothing about orientation or information packet. Just said to pay the 100$ to hold your spot and congratulations, that’s basically it.

    CSULB FALL 2020

Yeah you are right. My friends and family tell me LA is the way to go so I can have a social life and some time to work as a massage therapist and make some money while I’m in school. I feel like I would get depressed if my entire life revolved around school for 2 whole years without any breaks. As much as I want to finish sooner, I feel like spreading it out over 3 years While having summers off, while being closer to home, might be better for my psyche and mental health and allow me to work. I keep going back and forth but my gut tells me CSULA might be best for me and my lifestyle.

    CSULB FALL 2020

Yet... at the same time... I would probably have to work less since it is more credits per semester and spending more time driving... plus I’d be spending more on gas ultimately. So I’m wondering if that 5,000$ difference really matters

    CSULB FALL 2020

Oh my God thank you so much!! So I guess Cal State Long Beach is approximately $5000 to $6000 less expensive

    CSULA FALL 2020

They do but only from specific schools. I sent mine thru the National Student Clearinghouse. Since this whole Coronavirus thing has closed the schools down, they will be more flexible with transcripts. I would contact CSULA to be sure though.

    CSULA FALL 2020

Yeah I will probably contact the schools. Thankfully -------------- broke it down for me on ig message. It looks with all of the fees, it is roughly 30,000$ after everything. If you just factor in tuition it is 20,000$... but I forgot to include the cost of books, fees, equipment, etc. I’m curious about Long Beach’s total cost. The tuition for both schools are exactly the same for the most part. Since Long Beach is 1 semester less I would imagine that however you spin it, it is a little cheaper. But if we are only talking 4-5,000$... it isn’t too much of a difference.

    CSULB FALL 2020

To the current nursing students, can you share about how much the “nursing fees” are? I’m trying to compare CSULA and CSULB’s cost. I know tuition is basically the exact same for both give or take 100$. But curious if the nursing fees are also the same, like ATI, books, lab fees, etc... I know LB is 1 semester less making it over all cheaper, but curious if it is that much of a difference.

    CSULA FALL 2020

@CocoaQueen for Long Beach, someone in the other forum said 3,500$ per semester which is super reasonable. Only 5 semesters so it would cost like 17,000$ if what he/she said was correct. I also found this on the website which basically validates what they said. If these numbers are right then CSULB seems definitely cheaper. I am applying for a scholarship and the honors program for LA tho since I missed the deadlines for LB. hopefully I would qualify for something. I checked my portal for LA though, and it says under aid “0$” , I don’t really understand how to read my financial aid packages though. I wonder if I would get some kind of waiver for tuition though. I currently don’t get any aid from my CC but I do have my classes waived for now.

    CSULA FALL 2020

For LA this is what I found. 3,316 x 6 = 19,896$... which seems very reasonable. But then I see 24,588$ and then I see 32,000$, which are completely different numbers. I’m contacted --------------------- on Instagram and she’s gonna break it down for me thank god LOL.
