  1. Hi! I also did not attend UCLA's nursing program and was hired for the hematology/oncology unit at Ronald Reagan. So it's definitely possible to get hired as a nurse at UCLA without ever being a student or previous employee there.
  2. Does anybody know if UCLA does a self-scheduling system after we are done orienting? Also does anybody know how many uniforms we will receive for free doing full time, and if we are able to also wear dark blue figs if we run out of clean ucla scrubs?
  3. Oh okay cool! So it increases often it seems like. The new grads this cohort were offered $53.01 and Nicholas said it would raise to $56.63 after 6 months.
  4. Jeez only $1 a year raise?? ?
  5. No but I'm also interested in seeing this
  6. You just go to the lobby and someone is supposed to meet you there
  7. $49.75/hr - weekend diff is $2 more. I'm not sure what the night diff is because I work day shift but I heard it's around $7 (but I could be wrong)
  8. Hi Everybody. I just withdrew my application for Providence St John's in Santa Monica because I am taking an offer at UCLA. I cancelled my interview, it was scheduled for June 27th at 1pm. So if anybody was trying to get an interview there and couldn't because the spots were taken, try to reach out to taken acquisition and get into that time slot. I work at Providence St John's and I really love the work environment there, and would've been happy doing their TIP program but I had to go where the opportunities are with UCLA! Just know they will ask many behavioral and usually 1-2 easy clinical type questions. Be friendly and bubbly (that's what got me the job as a CNA). Good luck to everyone else!! I will leave this forum open for you guys ?
  9. 2 weeks before my start date. So not til September. I think you'll have plenty of time, especially if you tell them that.
  10. True. Also I've read on the previous cohort that people got offers way later due to people not accepting the offer or not following thru with onboarding
  11. I think today is the last day to hear about offers if I'm not mistaken
  12. Hi, yes someone now has mentioned this unit on the fb Someone now has mentioned SM OR but IDK about ASC PACU
  13. Add ASC OR and CTICU at Ronald Reagan to this list
  14. No. The units mentioned on the fb are: RR: NICU, MICU, Oncology/Hematology, Neuro/Trauma ICU SM: NICU, ER, Oncology There are also many ppl on there who haven't said anything, so it's hard to know for sure.
  15. Yes, someone on the facebook page said they were hired to MICU
  16. For anyone who was paranoid about the "rotating shifts,” reach out to your director personally for clarification. I asked mine about the wording on my offer and she said: "For clarification, you are not required to rotate. Our CNE no longer requires mandatory rotating however I include this on offer letters for the following reason: In the event you later would like to change shifts, it will not be required to go through an extensive process. I have had several people over the years after being hired want to change shifts so it was recommended to include rotating in the offer letter. You will be working day shift.” ????? 100% going with UCLA because that was my only doubt I had about the job! I hate night shift and rotating sounds scary. I'm very happy with this deal! ?
  17. There is not yet for our cohort! Would love to connect with others also ? — however I'm at RR. LOL
  18. I'm not a UCLA student and got my offer 5/31
  19. Oh that's awesome! You have experience working with 6E? That's great to hear you think they are awesome to work with, this is great insight. I'm pretty much 99.9% leaning towards UCLA. The long term benefits and the pay are unmatched! And also that would make sense they are skipping a majority of your onboarding since you work there already. I believe you just need your license number before your assigned start date, but the sooner the better I'm sure.
  20. I got an email from occupational health that just gave me the info to myUCLAhealth portal, and it scheduled me automatically for 9/11 at 10am. Like 5 mins later someone called me to ask if I wanted to change it and I said no I was fine with the date they provided
  21. Thanks so much for the info! I'll email her since it seems like every unit is different. Would love it to be only days LOL. But If I have to do nights once in a while, I can live with that temporarily since UCLA is a good opportunity. I work at Providence St John's and my boss will hire me to day shift there, so im conflicted bc I'm an early bird haha?
  22. I'm an external hire. I would email Nicholas again. We were emailing on Friday. What did your offer say about your shift? Mine said "you will work day shift and/or day/night shift rotation.” I asked Nicholas and he said: "Your primary shift will be days, yet all Nurse Residents are expected to work day/night rotation throughout the year due to program needs (I.e. class, orientation).” In my interview, rotating shifts was never mentioned, I was only asked my preference and I told her days. Anyone wondering - Night differential is $6.00, weekend differential is $2.75, and after 6 months, pay will raise to $56.63. ?
  23. Yeah I would definitely check! I'm sure you got the offer, but maybe their system is glitching out. I've literally gotten the confirmation email for the new hire session over 30 times! It's driving me crazy but I can't block them ? LOL. Definitely something is wrong with their automated system. Anyways, I received my offer 5/31 and was immediately prompted to schedule my new hire session and made it for 6/7, and was then sent a second email to create the onboarding portal. Then the next day on 6/1 I received a phone call and email to schedule my drug test and physical exam with occupational health
  24. As soon as you accept the offer online, you will be instantly prompted to schedule your new hire zoom session and be given your information to create your onboarding portal. I personally received a call first and then got the email right after we hung up. If you got an email offer expect a call soon, probably tomorrow
