I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSULA Fall 2016 nursing program hopefuls. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions, especially because of the upcoming semester conversion. I have plenty of questions about application deadlines, volunteer hours, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!
I know this might be a little too early (especially for me since I don't have any updates of my status), but I created a Facebook group for the Fall 2016 cohort. It's called "CSULA School of Nursing, Class of 2019". Gave me time to waste while waiting for my email
Haha! Looking it up right now
All the transfer students that got emails with a BSN major on top for sure got into the program!!! Thats awesome! Because it would have said you alternative major if you hadn't ! Kinda hoping I wasn't a CSULA student right now just to find out through admissions as well but I guess we have to wait for the actual email from SON :/
I'm an undegraduate and they accepted me as undeclared with an interest in Nursing. Technically, I'm undeclared but I'm under the Health and Human Services department, not nursing.
The school of nursing is apart of the college of Health and Human Services. Dont give up hope yet. Im sure the transfer students are getting there emails because, we only have two weeks to pay the deposit.

you really think so? I posted a pic of my letter from CSULA it says my major is Nursing (BS). So you think that means we're in? Like you can't get accepted into the nursing major unless you're in the nursing program? I'm so paranoid. I just wish we would hear from Monica! lol
Did you ever call admissions?

Hmm, that is what is confusing me. I just reread the CSULA nursing "must read for applicants" and it says that we are not admitted into the nursing program UNLESS we get an email from the SON itself. It said that no matter what admissions says, we need an email from the SON. I'm confused though because it also says that admissions receives a list of the top candidates for the nursing program and they send out the admission notices.

Your major wouldn't have said "nursing" if you weren't in the program. When I applied to the school freshmen year out of high school they put my major as "undeclared with an interest in nursing". So the fact that you have nursing for sure you're in !! Im not a transfer so if I call admissions i dont know what to say..like I'm already at the school :/
