CSULA Fall 2015 Nursing Applicants (BSN BASIC)

Published

I've been reading the thread of CSULA Fall 2014 nursing applicants & wanted to start one for this upcoming CSULA Fall of 2015. I am extremely eager to know how many points people have. I have 24pts & am going to retake my TEAS this upcoming November. Those who are interested as well, please don't be afraid to comment!

I wish there was a way to speed that up too! 3 years is a long time... But I guess in the grand scheme of things, it's not.

I wonder if the 3 year timeframe includes summers, or if nursing courses aren't offered then.

goodness that's long. that's one year later than I expected to graduate, but I guess getting out in 4 years is virtually impossible nowadays...

Ah, finally there's a conversation rolling. Judging from 2013 and 2014's thread and from past users and just lurking around, everyone from our thread with 24 points is most likely to get in. So we have that going at the very least. The count down begins...

Sorry I've been trying to search for the point system and how to calculate it but apparently CSULA took down their point system since the Fall apps were already due. Can somebody help me out with the point system please? =D

Here are my stats:

Prereq GPA: 3.69

Overall GPA: 3.81

TEAS Reading: 95%

TEAS English: 98%

100+ volunteer hours

I have 24 points and didn't get into the program.

Make sure your GPA is exact as a few points can make a difference.

Prereq GPA: 3.69 = 8 pts

Overall GPA: 3.81 = 5 pts

TEAS Reading: 95% = 5 pts

TEAS English: 98% = 5pts

100+ volunteer hours = 2pts

Total = 25 pts

I have 24 points and didn't get into the program.

You didn't get in last year or this year, or a previous year? Might be a variety of factors, maybe you didn't finish 1 or 2 GE class or something and when it came down to comparing another person who had the same score, they picked the person who finished everything, etc. What do you think went wrong? You could have been at least waitlisted...

There also seems to be a lot more 27's this year (or maybe I'm imagining it), so the "cut off" might be higher than last year too.

Hi I got wait listed and accepted with 23 points.. So you are correct About this person missing something

It was for this year I recieved the letter in the mail already. It said that I had everything but there were more people with higher scores than I do. And it didn't say anything about being wait listed either
