CSULA Fall 2015 Nursing Applicants (BSN BASIC)

Published

I've been reading the thread of CSULA Fall 2014 nursing applicants & wanted to start one for this upcoming CSULA Fall of 2015. I am extremely eager to know how many points people have. I have 24pts & am going to retake my TEAS this upcoming November. Those who are interested as well, please don't be afraid to comment!

Hi everyone.. Getting pretty anxious waiting to hear from CSULA. Seems like my best bet now that CSUSM denied me based on location :(

My stats:

Science GPA: 10

Overall GPA: 4

TEAS Reading: 5

TEAS English: 5

Previous Work experience: 3

Total: 27

I really hope I get in and I don't get shot down by the school for living in Orange County instead of LA county :( I used to live in LA too, darnit!

@tigerkate

I'm sorry to hear you got turned down CSUSM :( But with your score you should have no trouble getting into CSULA! from what I know CSULA does not deduct any points for your location :up:

Are you planning on moving closer to CSULA if you get in or are you going to drive all the way from orange county?

Man this thread is dead compared to 2014's thread. 3 more weeks til the first week of April! Getting pretty nervous and anxious at the same time.

Denied bc of your location? That sounds absurd. How is that possible? I'm sorry you didn't get in. I definitely agree with Dannydgk though. Csula doesn't base your acceptance on location..

Anyone else super anxious?! 3 more weeks!!!

Seriously. There's really nothing we can do except wait until we recieve letters…. This is going to be a looong 3 weeks. If anyone wants to add their name to this list, please do so! Goodluck everyone! I hope we are all able to meet each other this cohort!

Yeah, I didn't even get to hear from the nursing school at CSUSM. The school itself said that they had impaction and had to deny me based on my location (or gpa, but my gpa is ridiculously high compared to their average soo it's not that)...

Oh, and I've timed the drive to CSULA in moderate traffic and it took me 40 minutes. So I would probably not move, but it will depend on class times if I get accepted!

(I had an issue with my transcripts-- I ordered from one of my schools in the beginning of December, it got lost in the mail and due to the holidays, I couldn't get a new official one until after Jan 5th... So I had to drive up and turn it in myself. While the lady had all of the apps out and was sorting through them!!)

I hate waiting :(

@tigerkate

Wow that is odd. If I were you I would contact the nursing office and ask them about it. So you can confirm if they denied you or not.

and oh i see, I guess 40 minutes isn't too bad. Did you ever consider CSULB's nursing program?

I applied, and since I am still taking my Micro class, they weigh it as a C. Which brought my points from them down from 9.3 to 8.3... Pretty sure I was rejected since they've had the communications exercise already, I believe. It would also take me just as long to get there!

Waiting is the worst!

I couldn't agree more. Its finals week at CSULA which adds to the anxiety.

@tigerkate

same here! I have stats in progress so it brought my score down :( I'm debating whether I should re apply in the spring or if I should just go to CSULA if I get accepted. CSULA is about 30 minutes away from me while CSULB is about 50 minutes away :nailbiting:

And I agree! Waiting sucks! :banghead:

Let's say in a perfect world we all get into the program -- when would we graduate?

By spring 2018 which would be in June.
