CSULA Fall 2015 Nursing Applicants (BSN BASIC)

Published

I've been reading the thread of CSULA Fall 2014 nursing applicants & wanted to start one for this upcoming CSULA Fall of 2015. I am extremely eager to know how many points people have. I have 24pts & am going to retake my TEAS this upcoming November. Those who are interested as well, please don't be afraid to comment!

@KaylaAshley

Is it possible that you miscalculated your points?

It was for this year I recieved the letter in the mail already. It said that I had everything but there were more people with higher scores than I do. And it didn't say anything about being wait listed either

This is definitely a red flag. I agree with Ninja, did you miscalculate your points? Something must have went wrong. My guess is just a guess, maybe you had a class repeated? A class didn't match their requirements? This is anyone's guess at this point. This is definitely alarming as it means the bar has been raised higher. 24 pts is seriously competitive enough. Something serious must have went wrong if they sent you a letter this early before they send out notifications.If you don't mind, share us your full stats (classes you took, scores, etc) and perhaps we can look over it and see what went wrong.

@KaylaAshley

and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say how bummed out I am that you were denied. I'm sure you'll get in somewhere else though :) just keep trying and don't give up!

And no one else has received letters, right??

A bummer indeed. It is definitely unfortunate that you didn't get in. From what it looks like you had pretty competitive scores, however, it could be anything. I'm just so puzzled.:no:

I suppose if you don't get a letter before April you're in the clear? I'm sure it would makes sense that they would send denial letters to those who seriously did not make the cut.

And for those asking, she did already post her points in the thread. Doesn't look like any mistakes there. So perplexed as to why you weren't waitlisted at least...

But, then again, we have more responses this year than last in terms of who applied and a lot more 27 and up. I'm guessing it was very competitive this year.

I called the SON and was told that about 200 rejection letters were already sent out. They received about 500 applications. I believe they started the application process much sooner than last year. CSULB also already selected their cohort for Fall 2015.

I knew about LB since they had their communications exercise so quickly...

But knowing that LA has sent some out makes me VERY nervous! I had them send it to my PO box so I'll have to start obsessively checking now.

Does anyone remember the points cut off for the prereq gpa? Like where 10 goes to 9? I'm worried they counted a rhetoric class I took instead of just using my AP score and I'm wondering if that would even matter (at most it'd drop me one point)

GPA pre-requisites point list:

2.75-2.99=1pt

3.00-3.19=2pts

3.20-3.39=4pts

3.40-3.59=6pts

3.60-3.79=8pts

3.80-4.00=10pts

CSULB sent their acceptance letters already. I hope we hear some good news soon!

Thanks! Ok so either way my points didn't change!

They didnt mention when when they were planning in sending out the rest of those letters? Man! I'll assume April 1st. The suspense!!

Im not sure if I miscalculated. I took all the required classes the only thing I could think of is they didn't count my volunteer hours as 100+ since I only did 117. And it brought it down a point. But everything else is pretty straightforward. I applied to csulb as well but didn't get into that early so I'm looking into west coast university but it's so expenive :(

Relax Tigerkate, you're making the rest of us very anxious! You have 27 pts, which is already really freakin' high. THem sending out 200 letters make this more suspenseful. 2 weeks left..
