It may be a bit early, but I wanted to create this forum for all of us students who want to be accepted into CSULA's SON for Fall 2019. We can discuss the TEAS, pre-reqs, deadlines, points, CSU transfer procedures, etc. Let's do this!

Did anyone weirdly get denied admission as a transfer student? I have a 3.9 GPA and got an email today saying I was denied admission. Wondering if I did something wrong on my application and what not but wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat.
I haven't heard anything from them at all and I'm a transfer student too. Did you already send your official transcripts to the admissions office?

And my application status says complete when I go to the cal state apply website but then I go to the cal state LA website the status says incomplete and they haven't sent me any emails lately so I'm losing my mind that I messed up :( Please tell me I'm not the only one who is having this problem :(
Hey! I was also worried because my GET portal says "incomplete" even though on cal state apply it says "complete." I just called CSULA's admissions office and they said it's completely normal. The status will show as "incomplete" until the university has come to a decision as to whether or not we've been admitted. You don't need to send official transcripts until you are accepted.
Is the fact that there is no point system breakdown up on the nursing website making anyone else nervous? Based off what I can remember from last years point breakdown and looking at others points from last year I thought I had 26 points but now I'm thinking I might not be remembering right or they changed it so I have lower points then I thought I did

I am right with you. Prior to submitting my application, my friend and I went to the SON office and Ms. Florita advised us that the criteria for this application period are new. It's still points-based but they are altering the distribution of points and so it seems like we're practically applying blind since we no longer know the points system they have now.

So the categories they score you on are the same (Pre-req GPA, overall GPA, TEAS scores reading and English only and volunteer/work experience) but the way they distribute the points for each category is different?

The way that she put it, yes, still the same categories, just different point distribution. They were really cautious not to say anything. I think they are making some big changes starting next Fall in terms of admissions for new cohorts. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though! I don't want to make anyone feel discouraged but it is a bit hard not to feel anxious.

I would highly recommend that you take one of your upper GE courses during this semester. We will explain this more during orientation this summer. ?
For second semester, we're taking Pathophysiology lecture (3 hrs), Medical Surgical Nursing lecture (3 hrs), Pharmacology lecture (2 hrs), and clinical (one full day). This semester is definitely a lot more challenging than the last.
Thank you so much for sharing! Are clinicals usually during the week or weekends? I’ve heard of some schools doing weekends or afternoon/nights.
Hi guys!
I actually called CSULA earlier this week and the lady said that’s it wasn’t unusual for apps to be incomplete still. Said we won’t hear anything till around March.
Not sure what’s happening with CSULA next year but I’ve been seeing stuff on the PCC group page from some alumni that transfer to CSULA will be harder—very soon. As the campus is impacted. So I’m a bit worried.
But apps being on incomplete status is normal! Won’t hear anything back till March!
