It may be a bit early, but I wanted to create this forum for all of us students who want to be accepted into CSULA's SON for Fall 2019. We can discuss the TEAS, pre-reqs, deadlines, points, CSU transfer procedures, etc. Let's do this!

So far, everything I've heard about nursing school has been true. It's a lot of work and a lot of material, but the most amazing part is making friends who are going through the exact same thing. You never feel alone and your classes allow for a lot of classmate interaction so it's easy to get connected. Of course, the nursing work is rewarding too when you see the little differences you make in your patient's day. ? At the end of the day, I enjoy the program.
Last year, emails were messy and being sent out at different times, but from what I know the earliest emails were sent out around March 17th and the later ones around early April.
Hi everyone!
I haven’t been checking in on this forum but I’m transferring to CSULA from PCC so I was actually able to get my transcripts sent around mid-December. Totally helped that PCC also does electronic transcripts so it was sent within 1-3 days.
Though, can’t say that was 100% great. NursingCAS actually verified my transcripts (one from a community college in Hawaii and PCC) within that weekend. WAAAAY faster than I had expected them to.
So while I had no problems with the verification process taking a long time, I accidentally uploaded the wrong TEAS test forum/document that the program wanted. So just future reference for any future applicants reading this forum—MAKE SURE TO CLICK THE TEST TYPE IN THE RESULTS TAB. It should pop up a PDF with colored bars with about 5-6 pages or something. It’ll have the same data as the results tab, but also just graphs and some data on the types of questions asked on your exam
I called NursingCAS the closest Monday after I had finalized my application & they had verified my application. They told me they couldn’t fix/reupload/change any documents because my application had been verified. So, note that if you make a mistake in your application call NursingCAS ASAP (they work weekends too). It seems that they can fix your application as long as it has not been verified.
Luckily, I phoned Ms. Yvette & told her what had happened...While mentioning how quick NursingCAS verified my app...& she allowed me to upload the correct document in an empty “other” section of the application. Note: this was weeks before applications were due & the office probably wasn’t getting chaotic at the time with apps.
So truly...Ms. Yvette is a godsend. She’s amazing ???

The deadline for updating the application was a few days ago and I’d like to know if anyone received any emails for further action? Until I’m fully accepted I’m probably going to keep thinking I somehow messed up my application ?

I don't have much memory of the application process since it's been a while, but as for anything else, feel free to ask. Good luck everyone! ?
Hey! So great to find someone already in the program. ?
What’s your class/clinical schedule like?

For first semester, we took Nursing Fundamentals lecture (2 hrs), Physical Assessment lecture (2 hrs), clinical (one full day), and Physical Assessment lab (3 hrs). I would highly recommend that you take one of your upper GE courses during this semester. We will explain this more during orientation this summer. ?
For second semester, we're taking Pathophysiology lecture (3 hrs), Medical Surgical Nursing lecture (3 hrs), Pharmacology lecture (2 hrs), and clinical (one full day). This semester is definitely a lot more challenging than the last.

So I saw today on the PCC FB page that someone application status got changed to “admitted” (that little green check). I know their major is probably not nursing, but did any of you guys get an update on your application for CSULA?
Nope. Mine says it is Incomplete.

Hi! Do you know what the average stat was for the students that got accepted? Thanks in advance!

I just sent mine to nursingcas because I thought you weren't supposed to send your official transcripts to the admissions office till the asked but now I'm kind of worried I messed up somewhere cause they haven't asked for mine yet.
