  1. Clinicals can be during the weekdays or weekends. It depends on where you live, the availability of the hospital, and your clinical professor's schedule. Your class will be split into groups of ten and each group is assigned to a hospital. Last semester my clinical was on Mondays, and this semester it is on Saturdays. As for nights... I have yet to get a night shift clinical so I'm not sure!
  2. I'm not sure what the average stat was for last year, sorry! I think that the lowest score I heard accepted was a 24. I'm not 100% sure though.
  3. For first semester, we took Nursing Fundamentals lecture (2 hrs), Physical Assessment lecture (2 hrs), clinical (one full day), and Physical Assessment lab (3 hrs). I would highly recommend that you take one of your upper GE courses during this semester. We will explain this more during orientation this summer. ? For second semester, we're taking Pathophysiology lecture (3 hrs), Medical Surgical Nursing lecture (3 hrs), Pharmacology lecture (2 hrs), and clinical (one full day). This semester is definitely a lot more challenging than the last.
  4. So far, everything I've heard about nursing school has been true. It's a lot of work and a lot of material, but the most amazing part is making friends who are going through the exact same thing. You never feel alone and your classes allow for a lot of classmate interaction so it's easy to get connected. Of course, the nursing work is rewarding too when you see the little differences you make in your patient's day. ? At the end of the day, I enjoy the program. Last year, emails were messy and being sent out at different times, but from what I know the earliest emails were sent out around March 17th and the later ones around early April.
  5. Hi everyone, I was accepted into PACSON here at CSULA a year ago. Class of 2021 here. I'd be happy to answer any questions you guys might have. I don't have much memory of the application process since it's been a while, but as for anything else, feel free to ask. Good luck everyone! :)
  6. Got my official acceptance letter this afternoon with 27 points. I'll be looking out for the FB group :)
  7. My situation was a little complicated because I actually received a rejection email on the 15th, which was a mistake because I had 27 points. I called SON and had been waiting for them to review my application again and contact me back. They also told me to expect official letters in April after Easter.
  8. Hey all, so SON contacted me today to inform me that I am indeed admitted to the program. They were super nice and understanding when I was confused since I had 27 points. Time to gather transcripts and that deposit money. ^_^
  9. I spoke with someone from the nursing administration office over the phone and they told me that they did not expect those emails to be sent out. It seems to me that CSULA and the nursing program staff aren't really on the same page right now. EDIT: Luisa just said the same thing, didn't see it when I was typing this up! Sorry for redundancy.
  10. Hi all, I received an email from CSULA saying that they were not able to admit me with my preferred major but to my alternate major, natural science. I had 27 points total and I've made no mistake in my calculation since friends have double checked for me. I guess CSULA really is extremely competitive. Good luck to everyone else!
  11. Hi friends, just finished updating my final touches on the Calstate Apply app (since I've been getting so many email reminders). I've tallied my score up to 27 points. Now all there's left to do is wait.
