CSULA ABSN 2016

Published

Hi everyone! I haven't seen a thread started for this yet so figured I should start one! I'm applying to CSULA's ABSN program for Summer 2016 and am about to submit my application in the next few days. Who else is applying? Figured we could all support each other and keep each other updated during this nerve-wracking process :)

Hey all - ironic given my last post, but I ended up receiving an interview invite today for next week. Just letting you all know that they are still sending them out!

For those who have interviewed, did she mention when we would be notified of decisions?

She said around the beginning of April, but she said that she doesn't have a clear date yet. I interviewed the first week so maybe on the later interview dates she will have a more clear date for when decisions will be made. I see a few people on this thread that have interviews next week, so maybe she will provide them with a clear date.

I'm so glad I found this article! I just got my interview invitation today (Happy V Day to me :p). My interview is on Friday Feb 26th. It seems quite late compared to a lot of you guys'. I'd thought I shared my stats with you guys too.

BS in Marketing from CSULA (I wonder if being an alumna would help at all...) GPA: 3.3

Science GPA: 4.0

TEAS Individual score: 90

TEAS National percentile: 99

CNA certified, HHA certified

2 years experience as a caregiver

200+ hours volunteering at CHOC

100+ hours as COPE Health Scholars intern/volunteer

My GPA is not my strongest point so I'm hoping my experience will give me an edge. I'm super nervous about the interview though. Good luck to everyone!! I hope to see you guys in the Summer :)

Did they have interviews this past week?

Specializes in ICU.

It's good that you have experience. I don't have any CNA or HHA certificate. And haven't heard back from them either...

I have heard that they have only conducted about 15 interviews, so whoever hasn't got an email just keep your fingers crossed. Our names shall be called soon [emoji4]

Do you know how many people they interview in total?

I've heard 50-60, but not 100% sure :bag:

I don't know the number, but prety sure they are going to interview atleast 60 peps

I think it might be less than 50 people with the scheduled times they have. Anyways, wanted to wish everyone good luck on interviews!!

I remember when I asked, she said "I want to try to interview 50 candidates." I'm not sure if that "try" means she may not make it to 50, or she was making it seem that she could easily go over 50. Nonetheless I hope everyone gets their shot! Good luck!
