Hi everyone! I haven't seen a thread started for this yet so figured I should start one! I'm applying to CSULA's ABSN program for Summer 2016 and am about to submit my application in the next few days. Who else is applying? Figured we could all support each other and keep each other updated during this nerve-wracking process :)
Hello everyone! I'm looking to apply to the next ABSN program at csula. For those that are currently in the program, I'm seeking advice to become a better candidate for the program. I mean there's only so much you can do, but any info will help!
Hi! I am currently in the ABSN program at CSULA. If anyone has any questions I can try to answer them! I had sooooo many questions last year and this forum really helped me.
About becoming a better/more competitive applicant, your work and volunteer experience is what really makes you stand out. Most of the people in our year worked as medical assistants, scribes, EMTs, clinical career extenders, hospital volunteers, paramedics, CNAs, and all that jazz before starting. The program coordinator looks for people who are passionate about health and about people. Having a strong, compelling essay will help convey your passion for nursing in your application!
If you are someone who doesn't have a super strong GPA, don't give up hope! Just how nursing is holistic care, your application is also looked at holistically. EVERYTHING is taken into consideration.
Hope some of that helped! Good luck! :)
