We don't need the titers if we've had the vaccinations, is that right?

I was told we had to have both titers AND immunizations done in case immunity had faded. Good thing too because I found out I need a varicella booster!

Is anyone declining the flu shot? On the form you can select "declination" and I don't really feel the need to get one this late in the flu season.

Also, is anyone planning on moving closer to CSULA if admitted to the program? Finding a place to live in LA is rough but would definitely be necessary for me.

Thanks @stomtom, I'm getting both done with my GP. I usually get the flu shot every year because it's kind of 'required' by the hospital where I volunteer, otherwise I'd have to wear a mask :scrying: .

Yeah I feel you! When I was working at a primary care office I had to get it too but I stopped working there before flu season began so didn't this year. Hopefully its ok!

Have any of you calculated the tuition costs for the whole program if you're going to go into the master's specialty portion as well?

I know that the ABSN tuition is going to be ~$32,000. If I go into the FNP track which is 5 semesters, that would be 5 x $7,609 = $38,045. The total tuition for three years would be $70,045.

Does that sound about right?

According to this link, $7,609 is the graduate cost of tuition and fees for the 2016-2017 academic year, not every semester. At least that is how I interpreted the information. So the total cost would be more like $32,000 for the ABSN portion plus 2-3 years (roughly 5 semesters) at $7,609 each, coming out to about $54,000.

$32,000 + (3 x $7,609) = $54,827

@stomtom: OHH whoops you're right. I totally did go to that page and think to myself--okay, this is the annual tuition. Not sure why I multiplied by number of semesters. Thanks!

Did anyone receive any invitation this past week?

Hey I had my interview today and they said they're still reviewing applications/inviting people for interviews.

Also as of today they've interviewed ~48 people.

If anyone is wondering, I was told we will be notified of decisions on April 1st.

At orientation we were told it's ok to not have a flu shot, we got ours at school for $5 once the season started in the fall.

Do we have to do the TB 2-step, or can we do the QuantiFERON Gold Blood Test instead?
