@katekrave - I messaged a user that I know got into our program who is a veteran and asked if he or she could shed light on your question. Based on last year's thread, it sounds like CSUEB gives heavy priority to veterans who meet the minimum requirements. If I were you, I'd contact the nursing departement directly to ask what their current policy is.

As far as where to live, Concord and Walnut Creek are the closest cities to the Concord campus. Many of us commute from much farther away, as there is always ample parking. I've never seen the lot even halfway full. There is also a shuttle that runs from Concord Bart to the campus, though its schedule is limited. What are you looking for in a neighborhood?

Admissions coordinator said emails are going out next week!!

Thanks for the update! Do you know if it goes to our personal email or the CSUEB student email address?

Hi everyone... totally late on hopping aboard this forum! I applied to East Bay and this whole waiting period is killing me! Ahhh so long! At least we are in May now so we should hear this month about acceptance! I have a couple questions if anyone could answer, that'd be awesome.

1) Is the priority for Veterans a guarantee into the program, so long as minimum GPA and such are met? I'm a Veteran, but I won't fully believe it until I see it in black and white...

2) Also, I'm living in the San Diego area currently. Any tips on neighborhoods to live? I applied for the RN program at Concord, so if anyone has some info I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

If you are a veteran and have met the minimum qualifications, I say welcome to CSUEB. As long as you were honorably discharged from active duty and have turned all of the required forms in on time there is nothing much to worry about. If this is the case and you get denied, I STRONGLY encourage you to inquire the reasoning for your denial. Good luck!

@donut151 - Thank you so much for your response and inquiring more information for me! I have contacted the school and they just told me what the website says - Veterans are given first priority as long as all minimum qualifications are met. It just sounds too good to be true!

Well, I don't know the area up there...at all. My husband will be attending community college still to finish up his pre-reqs, so mainly we want something affordable, dog friendly (we have 2 big doggies), and safe. Thanks again for all the info!

I'm so nervous!!! I got waitlisted at SFSU and for the MSN program at USF. I'll most likely get into SFSU but I would prefer CSUEB! Hopefully we really do hear back this week. Good luck everyone. :)

which campus did you guys apply to? I applied to the Hayward one. I wonder how many students they are accepting at each campus.
