How many here has applied for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at CSULA?
I know it is a little bit early to talk about this, but I just submitted all of my grades, TEAS scores (ATI sends them to CSULA SON for you), and notification of health care work experience (dental assistant) from an employer.
It has been a long and anxious wait till April/May for letters of acceptance to come in, so I hope this thread can help everyone who is dealing with the same anxiety and stress that we are all dealing with.
So If anyone would like to share their overall "points" score, or questions regarding pre-reqs TEAS etc. I would be alright to share all of you mine, and answer some questions that I might know.
Thanks and godspeed everyone!
Hi everyone. To those that received the packet, did any of you get the class schedule for fall 2011?
There wasn't anything in my packet about classes but I found this on CSULA's SON site:
http://www.calstatela.edu/academic/hhs/roadmaps/NURS/NURS_Freshmen_5Y.html
and from the looks of it...the class lectures Lysander mentioned are the exact ones listed under Fall Quater for that layout. In our packets on page 4, #12 it says that clinics/labs e.g. Nurs 105 and Nurs 273 are going to be assigned to us on orientation.
I am in desperate need of help =(
SO, as I understand it: I must apply to both, the school of nursing AND the university.
However, the apps for the university open Oct. 1, so I wait until then, apply to the school and mail my trascripts and the supplemetary info. to the Dept. of Nursing?
Also, is there an essay / personal statement portion?
I'm so lost!
I don't even know what letter of intent is!
I can't believe I'm so far behind on everything. What a fail. I will call Monica tomorrow and hopefully try to get an appt.
It's been impossible trying to see a counselor at my school and I work Mon-Fri 9-5:30.
All right, I'm going to get my stuff together and not to embarrass myself some more on this thread.
Thanks for the help.

To my knowledge, you must apply to CSULA first, then wait until the nursing application filing period opens on December 1st. There is check box on the nursing app that says "if you are a current student at csula," or "a student applying to csula for the first time." You need to send two sets of transcripts, one to CSULA and one to the SoN. The university and the nursing office does not share information with each other so it is your responsibility to keep the SoN updated with your educational information.

No no no, the apps for Nursing open Sep 1st and the deadline is Dec. 1st.
The counselor said it's better to send the supplemental info to SON first, then wait until Oct. 1st to apply to the school.
I was reading earlier comments on here, and I'm not sure why so many stated Micro is not counted.
Maybe not previously, but it counts this year. Which sucks for me, because it's pulling my G.P.A. down =(

Kosmic,
According to my conversation with the SON, register for THREE lecture courses: N100, N214, and N272.
Also, registration for another TWO lab classes will take place at orientation Sept 21.
