CSU Los Angeles School of Nursing (CSULA Fall 2011)

Published

How many here has applied for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at CSULA?

I know it is a little bit early to talk about this, but I just submitted all of my grades, TEAS scores (ATI sends them to CSULA SON for you), and notification of health care work experience (dental assistant) from an employer.

It has been a long and anxious wait till April/May for letters of acceptance to come in, so I hope this thread can help everyone who is dealing with the same anxiety and stress that we are all dealing with.

So If anyone would like to share their overall "points" score, or questions regarding pre-reqs TEAS etc. I would be alright to share all of you mine, and answer some questions that I might know.

Thanks and godspeed everyone!

Hello,

I made a new thread for the Fall 2012 applicants but I also wanted feedback from the people here since everyone here seems so knowledgeable!!

Okay, so my eaxm is tomorrow and I'm terrified.

Just to make it clear, I ONLY need to get a 100% on reading and english. . . I mean, I know overall I need to pass all the sections, but I don't need to make the perfect score on them?

Also, there's 20 unscored questions. My question is, is it specific questions, or let's say I get 160/170 they'll know count 150?

Specializes in Med-Surg/DOU/Ortho/Onc/Rehab/ER/.

I didnt know there is "unscored" questions....hmm

good luck on getting 100% in both. let me know how you do.....it might be a little tough. I am retaking it mid-Nov after I hear back about an ADN program I applied to. If I dont get into the ADN program I applied to (I applied to PCC, but I doubt I will get in) then I will retake it and send my scores in.

GOOD LUCK!

Hi everyone :) so I'm new to this site. I read majority of the posts and congrats to those who got accepted to CSULA for Fall 2011!

Yesterday, May 10 around 10:30 AM, I received a call from CSULA's SON on my acceptance to CSULA :D

These are my stats:

Pre-req GPA: 3.83 10 pt

Overall GPA: 3.68 4 pt

TEAS Reading: 1 pt or 2 pt

TEAS English: 2 pt or 5 pt

Medical Assist. Exp.: 3 pt

Total: 20/31 or 24/31

Reason why I put 2 different scores up for my TEAS is because the one I remember submitting would only have given me 1 and 2 points for reading and english. I retook the test two other times and the second column of points would be given to me if the school had taken the highest national scores of the 3 times I took the TEAS. (I took version 4 twice and version 5 once).

I noticed a lot of people were confused about the TEAS version...when I took my TEAS at CSULA, they were offering V. 4 but will accept scores from either versions. CSUSB, CSULB, & CSUCI will also accept either versions. SFSU ONLY accepts V. 5. CSULB will begin only accept V. 5 for Spring '12 and Fall '12 applicants (I think) and I forgot SDSU's.

I am a transfer student from Pasadena City College, for those that know where that is. :) Paid my $100 deposit like...30 minutes after receiving my phone call...lol. Didn't have too much of a problem with the cashier's office even though the deadline past (just be sure to mention you got accepted into the nursing program because they made acceptations to us). But yup...hope I get to meet some of you guys at orientation or class :D

Sorry this was such a long post...but I hope it can help some of you guys who are sweating bricks as I was. :p

thanks for putting your stats up!

do you know if you got in for getting 20/31 or 24/31?

&how do i find out what my point scale is? i applied for fall 2012 and my results havent come out yet, im very anxious

btw how do you like the nursing program so far!! please shareee i would love to know!

You know... I'll be honest I never found out what my real score was. I just calculated it myself according to the point scale they provided to get an understanding of where I stood. I've been told that students can ask the school of nursing how many points they were awarded after they've been accepted or rejected.

And... I am totally loving the program right now!! I just can't stress how much reading you have to HAVE TO read and studying but you'll meet really great people in the program who help and support you every step of the way :)

Hi I know this post was mainly BSN related. But anyone out there doing master's? specifically FNP?

I CANNOT choose between CSULB or CSULA.

Please help me!!!

Hey, when you handed -------------- your teas test scores, did you give her the print out of the score after you finished the teas or did you order transcripts? Cos I took mines at Rio Hondo also
