CSU Long Beach School of Nursing (Fall 2010)

U.S.A. California

Published

This thread is for those who are aspiring a seat in CSU Long Beach's School of Nursing for Fall 2010.

We all know the current impaction of the program. We are all familiar with the challenging process.

We understand the competition between all the applicants. You are not alone!

I submitted my application yesterday and I must tell you the relief I suddenly had.

I have worked hard the past two years of my life and there is nothing else I can do but pray and hope. =]

Has anyone else turned in their application?

you little. grrr.

i was about to run to my mail box even though i just checked it a few hours ago.. and it's like 1 in the morning.. >.

HAHA. i like the humor. =D

Edit: I called the CSULB automated admissions number and it stated that our admission status [to the University] has been deferred to the department of our major. I guess there is some truth to transfers getting rejected from the University if they don't get into the Nursing school. Good luck to everyone this week. The moment of truth. =]

Does anyone have any idea when they will be posting the list of who got in at long beach?

Hey missy42!!!

I also wanted to know when they will be posting the list of names of those accepted in the program.Anxiously waiting but am planing to call monalisa next week if I don't hear anything from them this week since 3 weeks will be over.hopefully will we know the decisions before Easter.

Well, I have called the nursing department this morning and the person told me they have sent all the rejection letters already. She didn't say anything about the white board however she did tell me the answer on who will be accepted and who will be on an alternate list will be mailed in a couple of weeks from now. Sacre bleu!! Let the torturing continue!! I can't sleep right.

If you haven't got rejected yet, then you're in good shape to be accepted. I figure 95-100 people who got interviewed will be accepted. Just relax and enjoy your down time. Be optimistic!

there were 110 people interviewd and 90 get in so I just really dont want to be an alternate that is why I'm so anxious. :) Bummer that it is still a couple weeks away....

Lol missy 42. That's true. Being on the alternate list would torture me longer! Daitrong is right about being optimistic. Some people who got accepted might go to another school which will open some slots for the alternate list...but still it I could be in the 90 that's one less stress in my life.hehehehe.:p:p:p

I would like to have your opinions please...I live in Culver City and I hear it would take me 30 minutes to get to school if I decided to commute. I have a great size one bedroom for a great price. The rent doesn't seem to be cheap in Long Beach especially near the campus. Do you guys think I should move in Long Beach? Apparently it takes people 15 minutes to get to the University from down town Long Beach.

What do you think? thanks :thankya:

30 min isn't bad. Gas prices are going up so that isn't good, but it probably would still be cheaper with the gas prices and your cheap rent to live in culver city. You should just do your calculations and see what is better, but really 30.... not bad.

Thanks Missy42!! I appreciate your input. :)

Are you serious? We might have to wait longer for our acceptance letter? I thought they said during interviews, that we will be notified in about 2 weeks (starting 3/12 since that was the last day of interviews)?

I definitely remember them saying that they would send out the email notifications to those who got accepted first, then an actual formal letter along with an orientation packet later.
