This thread is for those who are aspiring a seat in CSU Long Beach's School of Nursing for Fall 2010.
We all know the current impaction of the program. We are all familiar with the challenging process.
We understand the competition between all the applicants. You are not alone!
I submitted my application yesterday and I must tell you the relief I suddenly had.
I have worked hard the past two years of my life and there is nothing else I can do but pray and hope. =]
Has anyone else turned in their application?
I'm in the alternate list. do you guys know what I'm supposed to do in the mean time? I'm going to register for Fall 2010 classes soon and I don't know what to do because I don't really know if I will get in or not. What is the likelihood alternates getting in? I had applied with straight A's, one course in progress ©, and about an 85 on the TEAS. interview seemed ok. do you think if I get an A in that course in progress, I will get in next time? Should I retake the TEAS? haha I'm panicking. thanks in advance for any replies.
Hey guys, I have a question:
I've been admitted to CSULB as a pre-nursing major. What exactly does this mean? I know I'm not a real nurse (yet...), but I wanted to ask people who've been through the process and know what they're talking about.
If I'm accepted as a pre-nursing major, does that just mean I have to take my GE classes and prerequisite classes during my freshman year and then apply for the real nursing major when I'm finished with those?
Also: The school of nursing at CSULB is pretty well-known... and I know that the current economic conditions are making it difficult for people go graduate at other Cal States. Does the same thing apply for CSULB? Am I going to have to fight for a spot in class and pray that classes don't get cancelled? Will my graduation be delayed because of this? I'm trying to decide between CSULB and UCI, and this information will really help me to make my final decision.
Thanks!

You will still need to take your prerequisites and GEs before you apply for the actual nursing program. "Pre-nursing" is not an official major either. If you become a junior and still have not declared a major or have not been accepted to the nursing program, you will need to declare something. For me, my nursing counselor declared my major as "health science" even though that is different from the actual nursing major. (You can't declare nursing if you're not in the program). I'm still going for the nursing program, with no need to fulfill that declared major's requirements. Once I'm in the program, then my major will officially be Nursing.

I was wondering if any of you have applied to any scholarship in particular. Any tips to help would be appreciated. I have done my FAFSA.
