CSU Bakersfield Fall 2015 Nursing

Published

Hi,

I haven't seen a CSU Bakersfield thread anywhere for its Fall 2015 program, so I thought I'd make one for anyone that applied there.

I'm in the process of taking Physiology with lab now (under Prof. Stark). 2nd test coming up this week :arghh:

Anyone hoping to get into CSUB?!

I'm not sure where you're coming from but Bakersfield is one of the cheaper places to live in California. edgewater is right next to the school, and there's a cluster of privately managed apartments close by in the Quailwood neighborhood. there's also The Springs closeby and places along gosford road.

Good luck!

Hey guys!! I was just wondering which stephoscopes you guys have or bought.

I'm thinking about getting a Littmann Classic II S.E. I've heard they're good quality, and they're under $100 (even with a name engraving), so I figure it's a pretty good deal.

I would live in apartment with you but I doubt you would want to live with a male haha. Dorms are so expensive...

Any more people accepted from the waiting list since the end of July?

Anyone have any clues when they've finalized the Fall class? The email said changes will continue through the end of August so I don't want to bother our advisor...

I was pleasantly surprised to make the waiting list, and am fully prepared to improve a couple of areas to better qualify for '16... but the unknown is eating away at me :)

At the meet and greet, they mentioned that they were going to have another wave on August 13 (yesterday). It seems like they send out waves every Thursdays. And as of yesterday, they started adding people into classes.

Does anyone Know Were we can find out what books we need?

If they have enrolled you in the classes already, then go to myCSUB and there will be a green button that says "order books" just to the left of your schedule.

If they haven't enrolled you, go to csub.edu/bookstore

In the top left corner, go to books, then click on textbooks and course material, and it will allow you to put in the class info (fall 2015, nurs, 261, 01). Click submit and the booklist will come up.

I'm not sure if those books are going to be shipped to our house, or if they're going to be shipped to the school and then they'll give them to us. But I looked at the syllabus, and there only book that said "do not but, included in ati package" was the one with this info:

Knippa, A., & Prater, D. (Eds.). (2010). Fundamentals for nursing: Content mastery series

review module (ed. 7.0). Stilwell, KS: Assessment Technologies Institute. ISBN: 9781933107783.

I'm pretty sure we have to buy the rest on our own.

web did. you get the syllabus?

For those that did the CPR training at CSUB, have you gotten your cards yet?
