Hi,
I haven't seen a CSU Bakersfield thread anywhere for its Fall 2015 program, so I thought I'd make one for anyone that applied there.
I'm in the process of taking Physiology with lab now (under Prof. Stark). 2nd test coming up this week
Anyone hoping to get into CSUB?!
Hi guys! Sorry, I don't see a Fall 2016/Class of 2019 thread here on AllNurses. but as a junior that was in your shoes a year ago, I'll be glad to answer any questions you have!
You've probably heard that this year will be full of firsts for not only you, but also the nursing department and our professors because we have transitioned from the Quarter System (three quarters a year) to Semester (two semesters a year)... so schedules and clinical hours and curriculum are different!
What I can tell you is what I experienced last year: Quarter 1 was Fundamentals, Q2 was Med-Surg 1, Q3 was Med-Surg 2 (concentration on EKG/Telemetry). We had lecture M/Th, and 5 hours Clinical on Tues/Wed we spent the first half of the quarter was on campus. Between the Skills lab and Sim lab, we did assessments on each other as we become more familiar with the body systems, the nursing processes, etc. It was for the last 5 weeks that we actually got to go to the hospital on one of those days, and basically became comfortable picking patients (day before on your own time), talking to patients, using the charting system and day-of-care with your patient.... and care plans.
I hope that helps.... What is your class schedule for Semester 1 per myCSUB?
Hi everyone! I'm one of those unlucky summer Physiology students (actually, he's been a great professor and I look forward to him again for patho!)... I haven't emailed our advisor out of fear I didn't qualify.... and I don't want to discourage myself from continuing to hit hard this summer.Anyway, for the vets in nursing at CSUB I had a couple of questions:
1. How does the ADN-BSN bridge acceptance work? Do most students get in or is it as competitive? I couldn't find that info on the website
2. How does one retake classes they have C's in? I asked our advisor but she quoted the handbook and I didn't feel like it answered my question. I have a C+ in Micro at CSUB and a C in Gen Chem at BC. Since they're C's, if I retake the class for a better grade at the other school, will that transfer count as the "most recent grade"?
So as you can tell, those two C's are what probably killed my chances
Rest of my grades are A's and a couple B's.
I had a question for you sense you got into CSUB nursing with a C
1 Did you retake the class or get accepted with a C?
2 What was your overall gpa? (if you don't mind me asking)
3 What was your overall score?
thanks euisme
