CSN Spring 2016

Published

I know it's incredibly early, there's not even a board for Fall 2015 and their applications are due in 2 months, but I can't wait.

Is there anyone else here planning on applying for the Spring 2016 program?

I'm taking Biology 223 and 251 this semester. I'm also taking my TEAS on the 17th so I have time to take it more than once if need be. I figure I'll have 31 or 32 points. Everything except Biology 224 (which I'll be taking during the fall 15 semester) and previous medical experience, since massage therapy doesn't count.

I'm just curious if any of my potential future classmates are here already, reading up on things like I am.

Hi everyone, by any chance does anyone know what the cutoff points were for fall 2015? Just curious if I even have a chance... :/

Due date is tomorrow!

Just turn in my application yesterday! 36 point hopefully it's enough!

Hello future potential classmates! Been reading this thread for a while and I would like to contribute a little about my experience! I applied for 2016 Spring on Aug. 31. I think that in total, I will have around 31-32 pts. IF I did everything correctly! (That is what freaks me out the most, I will definitely talk to the limited entry lady so I can figure out if everything on my application was fine, so my nerves calm down.) I will only have 31 because I am missing biol 251 (5 pts.) Which I am taking this semester. I took the TEAS on the 29th and only studied for 3 days and in total, got an 82%... LONG STORY! From what I've been told, the cutoff for regular entry is 21 pts. Anyways, I have a friend who knows someone who was accepted with 26 points so it varies per semester. Anyways, good luck and keep in touch! I am so nervous just thinking about it... after all it's only a 2 month wait :p

good news people :) so I talked to the limited entry lady, here goes:

For 2016 Spring Regular Track: cutoff points: 21

amount of people who applied: 112

amount that will be accepted: 104

calls will be at the end of Oct.

Wow I always thought there were 200+ people applying each semester. That makes me much less worried.

Wow that is awesome! Now I just hope I didn't miss anything on my app!

You can always make an appt. with the limited entry and she can check your application with you.

Yeah I probably will just to ease my mind. I'm surprised at the low number of applicants I always thought it was much higher also.

So should I be worried with 40 points??? LOL (sarcasm by the way). 40 points feels like overkill.

Only thing I am worried about is making sure I did everything correct on the application packet. I am going to have to schedule an appointment with -------------- to go over my application so I can put my mind at ease. I really hope everyone who is qualified get in especially because there wasn't that many applications which is kind of surprising.

I'm midway through week four. Things I've learned so far:

-TAKE THE TOOLBOX CLASS!!!!! It's a life saver.

-The students that post crap up on Facebook make themselves ultra paranoid about stupid stuff. Ex: OMG!!! There's only supposed to be 50 questions on the test, NOT 65!!!! (Im not on Facebook, but all the gossip and BS just leads to trouble. Your instructors are watching it too. Don't be stupid and post up slides or test answers. Yes!!! It's happened already. People ARE that dumb.)

-ALWAYS CHECK YOUR CHECKLIST!!!! Don't forget anything.

-Get your papers started ASAP!!! (As in, written reports for class). Example: My paper is 23 pages long.

-Time management!!!!! You'll find out very quickly that you just don't have enough hours in the day (especially if you have family, children, job, etc). It's tough to figure out what you really need to know.

Anyways, good luck to everyone. If you have at least 30 points, sign up for Tool Box, unless you're incredibly proficient at nursing-related math.

Do you remember what the class number is for the Toolbox? It's the one that says it goes over over math and care plans, right? I think the online course catalog has it as Nurs 90.
