I know it's incredibly early, there's not even a board for Fall 2015 and their applications are due in 2 months, but I can't wait.
Is there anyone else here planning on applying for the Spring 2016 program?
I'm taking Biology 223 and 251 this semester. I'm also taking my TEAS on the 17th so I have time to take it more than once if need be. I figure I'll have 31 or 32 points. Everything except Biology 224 (which I'll be taking during the fall 15 semester) and previous medical experience, since massage therapy doesn't count.
I'm just curious if any of my potential future classmates are here already, reading up on things like I am.

Hi potential classmate! I am taking 224, 251, and an online class this semester, knocked out my TEAS last semester, and I do not have any previous medical working experience, but I am currently med tech certified. The most ideal situation for me is to be accepted for the Fall 2015, but knowing that the core sciences are at least 15 extra points, I doubt I'll be accepted without them. Best of luck to you this year!

Hi, I just graduated from CSN's ADN program. I would HIGHLY recommend that you complete all science courses prior to entering the program. People do get accepted without them however the science foundation that those classes give you is incredibly helpful for your nursing courses. I would have been so lost without them. Not to mention, the nursing courses are very time consuming. I could not imagine taking a science class on top of nursing school and work!
Good luck to you and let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to help 😊
Hi Christina!
I will be done with Biol 224 and 251 by end of Spring 2015 and should have 38 points, but that would mean I can only apply for Spring 2016's regular track.
Fall 2015 applications are due by March of this year, while I am still completing 224 and 251, leaving me with only 21 points total. It would be ideal to be accepted with only 21 points, and start the program in the fall after having completed those classes this spring. So I'm hoping for that.
If not, it will leave me with summer and fall semesters free until Spring 2016.
During my "free time" is there anything that you recommend to prepare for the ADN regular track? I read your post on what to buy already :)
Christina is an amazing help, isn't she?
I was thinking about taking the test of the pre-requisites for the BSN program through UTA

I would take as many BSN pre-reqs through CSN as possible. It's cheaper.
Oh I'm definitely going to take as many as I can through CSN. I just meant my BSN was going to be from UTA. Yeah I'm not spending $175/credit when I can do it for $87/credit. Approximately.

During my free time before I started the program I worked lots of overtime with my 2 jobs. I was able to a save up enough money to not have to work much during school except for breaks. I didn't do anything that had to do with studying and I still did fine. It's not really that bad. Just stay organized and don't get behind.
Took my TEAS today. I got an 84.7%. So close to the 3 point cut off, which I would have been happy with. So I think I'm gong to retake it after this semester.
That's awesome! Good job so far, at least.

I am also a 2016 Nursing student hopeful. Currently taking 223 and 251 and then maybe 224 in the summer at NSC or UNLV if not then 224 in the fall at CSN.
