CSN Spring 2016

Published

I know it's incredibly early, there's not even a board for Fall 2015 and their applications are due in 2 months, but I can't wait.

Is there anyone else here planning on applying for the Spring 2016 program?

I'm taking Biology 223 and 251 this semester. I'm also taking my TEAS on the 17th so I have time to take it more than once if need be. I figure I'll have 31 or 32 points. Everything except Biology 224 (which I'll be taking during the fall 15 semester) and previous medical experience, since massage therapy doesn't count.

I'm just curious if any of my potential future classmates are here already, reading up on things like I am.

Hey guys if anyone still checks this forum... :)

Did ANYONE take classes at another school other then CSN? I guess I'm wondering if the admissions team shows "preference" for CSN specific courses. ....?

Thank you!

No preference. Just as long as your courses are complete with a grade of a C or above then you are fine. Points are based on courses completed not grades in those courses. All my prerequisite courses were completed at my college in northern Nevada before moving back to southern Nevada.

Remember that if you complete courses at other schools...not in nevada or private schools...that you need to complete a substitution waiver for any courses that do not transfer over equivalently. Your waiver must be approved before the courses can be added to count towards points for your packet :)

thank you! that was just the information I was looking for. Totally appreciate the heads up about the substitute waiver! I better get on that right away I'm coming from California :(.

Does every class have to be competed prior to applying if you remember?

Each course is worth a certain amount of points on your way. Some specifically more points than others. So the more courses you complete the more points you have on your application. Along with receiving points for other criteria.... so it is best to complete all the prerequisites so that you can get as many points possible. In order to get into part time track you will need high 30s, and for fulltime track atleast mid 30s as far as points go to have a good chance of getting in.

That makes sense! I will have to look into how the points are distributed. lol i got 1 summer to take all the classes o boy! if not ithink I'll only have 25 points...:( thank you for your help! ! good luck with the program :)
