CSN Spring 2015

Is anyone applying for Spring 2015 Nursing Program 2015? I applied for Fall 2014 with 37 points and will be applying for Spring 2015 with 38 points. Does anyone have pointers for the application process? Has anyone gone to the limited entry workshop? I have been discouraged, and need some uplifting information.

I am freaking out as well, same issue as you... Not wanting to shell out all the money for all the things we need to get done if I only have to reapply... I was told by one person, there were only 15 alternates and most get accepted, then I was told they didn't know how many... I was told you could get a call up until the day before classes and must have all of your paperwork and testing ready just in case. Different story every time I speak with a different person, but that is kind of the MO for nursing programs, isn't it? I learn more from other students than I ever learn from program people. :)

While signing that "Alternate sheet at the orientation, I tried to do a quick count of how many people were on it. Looked like about 40 or so to me. But, how many were FT/PT? I also agree that being an alternate kind of sucks because it's a lot of money to invest, just to tell you that you're not going to be accepted into the program. I'm going to work on completing everything and just hope for the best.

What else can we do??? (not much)

pretty much! I did get into the Toolbox class I wanted, so there's that... I have all of my vaccines done except for the TB one, so that is all I need to get together, with my drug test and cpr cert...

My insurance is not covering the Hep B so far i sound it for 90 a shot, did anyone find it cheaper?

Where did you get quoted that price? did you try that place on the flyer in our packet? I would also try Concentra or the health district.

yes she was 90, 99 walgreens, girl on fb just said health district is 145, so I think for my shots im just getting them done next week after my tb finishes up(a few bucks more but at least all the ppwk will be done!

tomorrow i go in to have my tb read. I went to the lady who was on the flyer in our packet. I am gonna get a quote for all of the vaccines cause from the looks of it im gonna have to have them all done. I will let you guys know how much she charges for them. The 2 step TB was $50

I seriously recommend going to your doc for your physical and getting the titer done instead of running around getting paperwork proving you got vaccinated.

I have no insurance so I have no doctor or I would already be doing just that :(

The vaccine center has good prices. I called in today and they told me tb test is $19 and blood titer for mmr, hepb, and varicella is $182. I already have my tdap so I didn't ask how much that would be. Those are special prices for csn students.

Did you pick for the flyers they had outside on the table during orientation? It is for a place called "AnyLabTest". They offer cheap physicals as well as really cheap titers. Plus, they had included a $10 off card. I plan on getting my varicella titer done because I know I had the "chicken pox" when I was young and I am not really interested in spending $150 a shot. Give them a call.

From my understanding, we were to get TB step one- get the shot 2 days later get it checked then TB step 2 which is get another shot 7 days from the first TB shot then get it read 2 days later. Step 1 and 2 TB. Also I believe that it was recommended that we do not get Varicella and MMR before we do the 1 step TB because it can give a false reading of positive.

I was going to take my CPR class this weekend at the place that CSN recommended(flyer in the packet). Does anyone else plan on attending the CPR class this weekend?

I chose option #13 for my schedule. I really wanted a Saturday for clinical but I was not going to take an online class. No thanks!
